You were never one of us. My brothers and sisters, a new hunt begins today!
~ Tarak to King once he is unmasked.

Tarak is a supporting antagonist in the Disney Channel TV series The Owl House, serving as a minor character in "Eda's Requiem", "Knock, Knock, Knockin' on Hooty's Door", and "Watching and Dreaming", and the secondary antagonist of "Edge of the World".

He is a member of the Titan Trappers who was briefly mistaken to be the father of King Clawthorne. Like the rest of the Trappers, he wants to kill the last remaining Titan so he could free the Collector, who he has mistaken for the tribe's deity, the Grand Huntsman.

He is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, who also played Gantu in the Lilo and Stitch franchise, Dark Laser in The Fairly OddParents, Shredder in the 2012 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Chairman Drek in Ratchet and Clank, Skulker in Danny Phantom, Joker in The Batman, and Kamek in the Super Mario Brothers Movie.

History[]

None of Tarak's past is known other than the fact that he either joined or was born into the Titan Trappers and became best friends with its leader, Bill the Elder, though Bill doesn't treat him as a friend. Like with the other Trappers, Tarak has been lied to by Bill that they need to find and kill the last Titan alive to free their god, the Grand Huntsman (though they actually would've freed someone else), and be given glory. He eventually became a high-ranking member, and considering that he was the one who was going to sacrifice King and that he was the first person Bill spoke to after realizing that King was a Titan just to tell him to sacrifice King, it's very likely he is second in command.

Years later, he saw a video from King Clawthorne, who was making the video hoping that his dad would see it. Thinking King was a fellow Titan Trapper, he then sent a letter to King asking for him to come to the Titan Trapper island. King eventually found the letter and went to the island with Luz and Hooty. He greeted them and showed them around the island, even showing them the lead base, where he brought Luz and Hooty to Bill.

However, Bill gives them a description of a Titan that sounds just like King, which makes then realize who King really is. After Luz and Hooty go to warn King, Bill finds out himself and tells Tarak, who was going to play a game with King. Tarak brings King out to be sacrificed under the pretense of becoming a member. However, Luz and Hooty save him and tell him he is a Titan. Bill, Tarak and the other Trappers then chase after the trio, during which Tarak says to King he was never one of them. However, Bill accidentally reveals that the Huntsman would give glory to only him, which outrages Tarak, though it doesn't stop him from trying to kill King. Once Luz, Hooty and King escape the Titan Trapper Island, King destroys the portal to it and thus stops them from chasing after him.

During "Watching and Dreaming", it was shown that The Collector somehow captured both Bill and Tarak and turned them into puppets to torture King on his nightmares, implying that they may have traveled to the Boiling Isles or that The Collector visited them. What happened to Bill and Tarak following The Collector's redemption and all of the puppets being freed is ultimately left unknown.
