Tard, also known as Mustard, is one of Garlic Jr.'s henchmen, a member of the Spice Boys, and a supporting antagonist in the Garlic Jr. Saga of Dragon Ball Z.
He was voiced by Masaharu Satō in Japanese and by both Chuck Huber and Brandon Potter in English.
Biography[]
Tard is the second biggest member of the Spice Boys (next to Vinegar) and possibly the third strongest. He is closer with his partner Salt, with whom he usually fights alongside. Tard was first seen attacking and killing a couple and their child close to the temple where his master Garlic Jr. was trapped in the Dead Zone a few years ago. He later attacked Kami's lookout along with his cohorts and trapped Mr. Popo. Later, he helped his master in his fight with Kami by using his Energy Web to trap him. Their next target was Gohan. Tard and his allies went to Kame House to seize him, but were ambushed by Piccolo. Along with Salt, Tard went underground in order to grab Piccolo. The Namekian managed to escape, but was later overpowered by the combined powers of the Spice Boys and Gohan's friends, who were turned evil by the water mist that Garlic Jr. spread across the Earth in order to make its people his slaves.
Piccolo pretended to become evil as well (even though he was faking it), and along with his allies, Tard returned back to the lookout in order to take care of Gohan and Krillin who had just arrived. Tard's friend Salt attacked Gohan and gave him a brutal beating. Krillin tried to intervene, but Tard appeared before him and brutally beat him as well. After Gohan saw his friend Krillin beaten and helpless, he decided to fight seriously, forcing both Tard and Salt to blast Gohan together, but to their surprise, Gohan easily blocked their attack and easily killed Salt with his Masenko. Enraged by his friend's death, Tard charged at Gohan, but was kicked in the jaw by the kid. Gohan then killed him with a Masenko as well.
Powers and Abilities[]
Tard had similar abilities with his partners. He could fly, use martial arts, manipulate energy and use his Energy Web. Tard was strong enough to easily defeat Krillin (who's power had grown a lot while he was on Namek) without being even hit, but was no match for the full power of Gohan (around 200,000 at the time) who easily tanked his blast and killed him with no trouble. In contrast with his friend Salt, Tard appears to be more of a hand to hand fighter, and does not use Ki-energy attacks that much. He is weaker than Spice and Vinegar, who gave Gohan far more trouble, but it's unknown how strong he is compared to Salt. It's also unknown how strong he would be if he had used the power of the Makyo Star.

- Tard bears some resemblance to the Captain of Dodoria's elites. They are both big, have long hair, horns, similar skin color and clothing. They also have a similar fighting style, using knee strikes too often.
