Biography[]
Tasu Leech was a former slave of the Hutt Clan who was loaned out as a mercenary and assassin.
After the Battle of Hoth a bounty was put on hunter Beilert Valance due to his alliance with rogue hunter Nakano Lash, a bondsman Syphacc hired pit fighter Tasu Leech from the Hutts to hunt Valance over Fennec Shand, due to her services costing more than Leech. However, Valance defeated the young pit fighter. Tasu Leech then joined T'onga's crew with Zuckuss, Bossk, and 4-LOM. Leech joined the group in fighting the Knights of Ren on one adventure. But following a battle with Inferno Squad, Tarkon and Leech left the team.
Leech refused to speak a word of Galactic Basic, considering it a "soft language for soft people." Tasu Leech had defeated many would-be usurpers to his command, as the Kanjiklub tradition went that the leader may be challenged to combat by his underlings, for control of the position. He wielded a "Huttsplitter" blaster rifle, custom made by his lieutenant, Razoo Qin-Fee.
The Huttsplitter earned its name due to the history of the Kanjiklub's home planet, Nar Kanji, that used to be subjugated by the Hutts. The human colonists later overthrew the Hutt Cartel, and struck out on their own. Tasu Leech wore lightweight armor, and a plastoid blast jerkin.
Leech became the topboss of Kanjiklub. He was at The Sliver on the planet Kaddak, along with other Kanjiklubbers, when he overheard C-3PO informing Poe Dameron that Han Solo had also borrowed a significant sum of money from the Guavian Death Gang in order to fund his smuggling operations. Angered by the information, Leech confronted Bala-Tik, trading heated words before coming to an accord. Making a deal, the two gang leaders shook hands, finding common ground in their mutual hatred of Solo.
Tasu teamed with Bala-Tik of the Guavian Death Gang to track down Han Solo aboard his freighter, the Eravana, when he learned that Solo intended to swindle both factions after Solo borrowed a large number of credits from the Guavians following a job where he was to acquire rathtars for King Prana. Before he can take down Solo, the rathtars are released, and several of Tasu's henchmen are devoured by them. Tasu himself is able to briefly fight off one of the rathtars devouring two of his goons before running away; however, he is eventually devoured by one of the carnivorous beasts themselves later on.
