~ The Tattooed Invader to Brian Blake, after he fatally wounded Penny thru gunshot.
The Tattooed Invader is a minor yet influential antagonist in the novel, The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor. He is a member of Tommy’s bandit group that murder other survivors by home invasion. This bandit is infamously known for being the person that killed Penny Blake, causing the collapse of Philip Blake’s mind, and acted as a component for Brian Blake’s eventual turn into villainy.
The Tattooed Invader is described as being a large and rough man that was covered in tattoos. He had a beard and a coarse body with a beer belly.
Personality[]
Despite his short-lived appearance within the story, The Tattooed Invader was shown to be an extremely cruel and indifferent person. Showing no emotions after he fatally shot the 8-year-old Penny and seeing Brian desperately trying to save her, even going as far as to coldly point out to Brian that his dying niece will be last thing he’s going to ever see.
Story[]
Pre-Apocalypse[]
While nothing is directly known about his past, it is very probable that he knew Tommy and the other members of his group before the apocalypse. If this confirmed to be the case, then he was likely a drug addict of some sorts.
Post-Apocalypse[]
After the outbreak happened, this man would team-up with Tommy and a few other wrongdoers to start their own bandit group. They would repeatedly stalk their victims for some time and then murder the survivors for their supplies and home base, before eventually moving on only to eventually repeat their strategy again.
On August 13th, around 25 days after the Apocalypse happened. This invader and his group began stalking the Blake family and Nick Parsons out of Atlanta towards a Peach orchard 50 miles out of the city in a rural area.
After he and his group arrived at the Peach Orchard Villa, a deal was made between Philip and Tommy wherein Tommy’s group are allowed to have the Villa as long as Philip’s group can leave safely. Tommy would after Philip’s group left order his allies to kill them all. This invader would begin hunting down Brian and Penny Blake by chasing them down throughout the orchard with his handheld shotgun.
After missing the first few times, he eventually made a fatal hit to Penny who being carried by Brian on his back. Brian stops running and lays Penny down on the ground, allowing the Tattooed Invader to catch up with them. He approaches Brian and sees him trying to save his niece. The Invader gives off a cold response, “damn shame…”. He then prepares to kill the sorrowing Brian and tells him that the dying girl is going to be the last thing he will ever see. But suddenly, the Invader is shot through the back of the head by Philip Blake.
Shortly after his death, Penny would succumb to her wounds and turn, heavily damaging Philip’s mental as he wrathfully assaults Brian for failing to protect his daughter
