Team Cosmos are a pair of minor antagonists in the anime/manga series Kinnikuman Nisei.
They are a tag team consisting of two murderous Brutal Chojin named Sputnikman and Meteoman.
Biography[]
Past[]
Most of Sputnikman and Meteoman's past is unknown, what is known is that they are seen as members of the SKGB during the flashback chapter Warsman Begins, whether or not the two met each other at the SKGB training facility is unknown. The two are both incredibly patriotic to the Soviet Union to the point of wearing the flag as their capes before a match.
Both Sputnikman and Meteoman grew to hate the United States because of the Cold War and because the Moscow Olympics were boycotted by the United States.
At some point, the two would agree to work together and form the wrestling tag team Team Cosmos.
Kinnikuman Nisei[]
The Team Cosmos would easily survive the qualifying battle royal because of the Five Disasters and Hell Expansions easily killing and mutilating enough teams. The Team Cosmos would be set to fight the Hell's Bears first round.
After the Hell's Bears' entrance entranced the crowd, Team Cosmos was made into the heels for the match, not that they cared that much. As they went to attack the Hell's Bears, they would grab both Meteoman and Sputnikman's hands and make them a part of their dance. Once the dance ended and all of the crowd started to call them cute, both Sputnikman and Meteoman agreed that they needed to kill both of the Hell's Bears.
They would tackle the Hell's Bears out of the ring. When the crowd went to check both of Team Cosmos started to hate the Hell's Bears, calling the two a rip-off of Misha, the mascot for the Moscow Olympics. When Belmond, one of the Hell's Bears crawls back into the ring, Sputnikman and Meteoman perform a tag team move where Meteoman delivers a powerful knee to Belmond's face. Before Belmond could tag in Michael, Meteoman would transform into a meteor and tackle Belmond.
While the Hell's Bears were reeling from their attack, Team Cosmos performed another tag team move where they launched a rocket into space so that they could make space debris fall into the ring later with everyone in the audience thinking they had just launched a firework. Just after this, Belmond and Michael would go on the offensive, striking Meteoman in the head with a rolling kick, with Michael grabbing Sputnikman by the arm and suplexing him.
As Meteoman was recovering from the kick to his head, Belmond started to repeatedly strike his neck while Sputnikman was fighting Michael, tossing him into the air with Meteoman leaping up to perform a tag team move, slamming Belmond to the canvas and ripping the back of his suit. Seeing the blood pour out of the suit, Sputnikman would hold Michael in place while Meteoman repeatedly kicked the wound. Belmond would break free of Sputnikman's grasp and punches Meteoman's knuckles, making them bleed.
At this point, both of the Hell's Bears started to overpower Team Cosmos with Belmond getting on Sputnikman's shoulders and elbowing his head over and over again. Meteoman would tackle Michael off of him and give Sputnikman the chance to make space debris rain down from space which would damage. Sputnikman would then use the metal embedded in their body and the satellite he shot into space so he could see inside of the Hell's Bears' suits, what he saw was that one of them was a cyborg and the other was an immensely powerful Chojin.
After this, the Hell's Bears would go berserk and begin to savagely beat on Team Cosmos and perform a tag team technique where they suplex the two into each other headfirst, almost knocking them out. Sputnikman would get back up and ask Belmond, who he saw was Warsman under the suit, why he was betraying the USSR and fighting against them. Belmond would tear out of his suit and drill a hole through Sputnikman's torso, making him collapse from his injuries and making the Hell's Bears win the match.
Later, both Sputnikman and Meteoman are seen being carried out on stretchers to receive medical attention.
