Team Skull Grunt A and Team Skull Grunt B are supporting antagonists in the 2016 3DS videogames Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon and their updated versions, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon. They are two Team Skull grunts that frequently appear throughout the first half of the game.
Biography[]
Team Skull Grunts A and B first appear in Hau'oli City's Ferry Terminal, trying to get Captain Ilima to surrender his Pokémon. Seeing this, the player battles one of the grunts to chase them off. In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, the grunts are instead battled in Hau'oli City's malasada shop, where Hau deals with one of the grunts, while the player deals with the other.
When the player gets to Route 2, a Delibird makes the player follow it, showing the latter that Team Skull Grunts A and B are terrorizing the owner of the Berry Fields. The player battles the grunts once again, and they run away. In the updated versions, this battle instead takes place on the newly-added Big Wave Beach, where the grunts are harassing a Mantine.
When the player is going through the Normal-type trial in Verdant Cavern, the grunts interrupt them once again. If player responded by saying they remember them, they are flatted that they can tell them apart despite the fact that the look exactly alike. If the player trolls them by asking who they were, they swap places and chew them out for not telling them apart despite their identical appearances. The player defeats the grunts, who then are shocked and help the player in their trial.
The grunts make their final appearance in Akala Island, where they are seen harassing a Drifloon. Hapu asks the player to deal with the grunts. Once the player defeats the grunts, they run off once again. After this, the grunts aren't seen again in the game, but they most likely reformed after Guzma disbanded Team Skull.
