|~ Chocolate Phantom talking to the gang.|
The Technicolor Phantoms are the main antagonists of The Scooby-Doo Show episode, "The Ghost of the Bad Humor Man".
All three of the Technicolor Phantoms are voiced by late John Stephenson.
Sammy the Shrimp and his two accomplices stole an armored car full of money and were forced to hide the car. So they disguised themselves as the Technicolor Phantoms started haunting the Happy Humor Ice Cream Factory and scared the employees away sabotaging the company's business. Then they began to repaint the armored car so it would look like an ice cream truck. In the beginning of the episode the Mystery Machine crash into the Ice Cream Factory and goes in to find help. They come across Mr. Grizzley (really Sammy the Shrimp) and he tells them about the Technicolor Phantoms. Mr. Grizzley goes away and the gang sees the Phantoms appear one by one. Scooby and Shaggy runs away and bumps into the factory's owner Mr. Queen who explains that the factory will go bankrupt because of the Phantoms. The Phantoms disappear after the Chocolate Phantom threatens the Scooby gang and Mr. Queen. Scooby and Shaggy runs away again and finds the Vanilla Phantom but hides in the ice cream storage room. Velma, Daphne and Fred starts searching for Scooby and Shaggy while Mr. Queen leaves.
Fred, Daphne and Velma finds the factory's garage with loads of ice cream trucks. They see that there is a crack in the floor under one of the cars and that that car is locked. But suddenly the Strawberry Phantom appears and it begins to chase Fred and the girls. They eventually end up in the same room as Shaggy and Scooby, but they along with Scooby thinks that Shaggy is the Chocolate Phantom because he wears a costume looking exectly like the Phantom. The Strawberry Phantom thinks that Shaggy is the Chocolate Phantom and goes out of the storage room with him and locks the others inside. Shaggy is then chased by the Strawberry and Chocolate Phantom when they discover Shaggy isn't a phantom. The chase goes but Shaggy luckily escapes and unlocks the storage room door so the gang gets out. The gang gets chased by the Strawberry Phantom and decides to trap him, but accidentally capture Shaggy and the chocolate phantom costume fell of.
After that the gang notices that Mr. Queen is gone. Then the Strawberry and Vanilla Phantom comes and Scooby and Shaggy jumps into the ventilation system and Fred and the girls runs away. Velma finds white paint and decides they all shall go back to the garage. Inside are all the Phantoms painting the locked car and they begin to chase Fred, Velma and Daphne into a dead end. Shaggy and Scooby comes and saves them but the Phantoms are driving away in the armored car. The gang traps the Phantoms in the car and finally the police arrive. The Scooby gang explains everything about the Technicolor Phantoms and their scheme and they are arrested.
- The Technicolor Phantoms are just recolored versions of the Phantom Shadows from the Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? episode "A Night of Fright is No Delight.
- In one scene, Sammy is telling the gang about the phantoms, and it shows the Vanilla Technicolor Phantom spying on them. This is either a mistake on the animator's part or one of the other two criminals is in the costume.
- Even though the Vanilla Phantom is the one with the least amount of screen time and least amount of interactions with Mystery Inc. He is the only one who's named. While the Strawberry Phantom has most screen time and most amount of interacions is unnamed.
