~ Teddy to Hutch. |
Teddy Kuznetsov is the overarching antagonist of the 2021 action film Nobody.
Depicted as a Russian thug, he is the younger brother of crime boss Yulian Kuznetsov.
He was portrayed by Aleksandr Pal.
Personality[]
Despite the screentime he has, Teddy is explicitly demonstrated to be incredibly immature and reckless, considering he and his gang crashed beside a local bus while drunk driving. He also seems to be perverted, as he and his gang cornered a young girl on the bus with the possible indication of having their way with her.
At best, he's a coward, trying to stab Hutch from behind without making any effort to help his gang fight back and sneakily goes behind Hutch when he brutally finished off his friends, only to grab his gun and reload to shoot him without cautiously thinking twice. These traits are possibly the reason why Yulian hates his brother despite caring about him at times, to which Hutch concluded that "knowing very little of the guy, he gotten what he deserved", something Yulian didn't bother justifying for his brother's defense.
Biography[]
On the night when Hutch fails to exact revenge on the people who burgled his house after it turns out they were a desperate couple with an ill baby, he takes a bus ride home. On their way, a Range Rover car with music blaring from it crashes into some posts next to the bus. A drunk Teddy and his friends emerge from the vehicle and cheer at the sight of the bus, as the driver reluctantly lets them in.
One man leaves after being intimidated and Hutch decides to take his anger out on Teddy and his gang, as well as to protect a young girl from their harassment. Hutch escorts the bus driver out, empties his revolver, and tells Teddy's gang that he will "F*ck you (them) up".
Teddy and his gang laugh at Hutch's declaration, the thugs get a couple of hits on him but Hutch soon gets the upper hand on them all. Frightened, Teddy then takes out a switch knife and stabs Hutch in one of his waistlines, but he retaliates by delivering a blowing hit to his face, breaking his nose in response. Hutch then removes the knife and fights the rest of the gang. As he pins one of them to the side of the window, Teddy and the others try to grab him but fail, and Hutch is thrown out of the bus.
To their surprise, Hutch comes back onto the bus and tells the girl to run, which she does, as he proceeds to take a knife from the floor and bind his own fist with a seatbelt. Hutch then swiftly defeats all of Teddy's gang, as the latter rushes past him to pick up Hutch's revolver and loads it. Hutch then tears off a bus pole and as Teddy threatens him, beats the firing gun out of his hand, then hits Teddy with the pipe, and ends up bashing his throat closed, causing him to choke. Hutch chooses to save his life and cut an airway in his throat using the knife and straw from the girl's drink. As Hutch leaves and hands the bus driver her phone, she presumably calls an ambulance for Teddy and his gang.
Teddy's brother, Yulian, is later informed of the incident and sees a barely alive Teddy in the hospital. He asks the doctor if he will walk again and the doctor replies that his vitals are being monitored, but the damage to his brain is severe. His right-hand man Pavel then reads the damage and confirms to Yulian that Teddy is screwed. This sets the Russian crime lord off to find out who killed his brother.
It is unclear what happened to Teddy afterwards or if he died during the later events of the film (dialogue from Yulian suggests he very well might have). Although it is made evident that had he survived, he would never make a full recovery.
