Teetsi is a minor antagonist in DreamWorks' 17th full-length animated feature film, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the second installment of the Madagascar franchise.
He is a strong and feared wrestler who serves as Makunga's bodyguard and personal henchman. Despite this, though, it's implied that he's not too fond of working with his boss, having to reluctantly contribute to his master's plans to overthrow Zuba as the new Alpha Lion. Even then, that doesn't stop him from being Alex's fierce wrestling opponent.
He was voiced by Fred Tatasciore, who also played 8 in 9, Mandarin in The Invincible Iron Man, Poseidon in God of War, Major Force in Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Witch Doctor in LEGO Hero Factory, Gahri in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness, Kakuzu in Naruto: Shippuden, Goldar in the Power Rangers, Juggernaut in Wolverine and the X-Men, Graviton and Red Hulk in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Tony Alpert in Battlefield Hardline, and Cerberus in Scoob!
Biography[]
When Makunga was joyful that Alex returned, Teetsi expressed surprise, and said that he thought that Makunga hated Zuba. And then, Makunga told his henchman that he did, and that he was going to use Alex as a ploy to get rid of Zuba once and for all.
Later, Makunga tells Alex to choose Teetsi as his wrestling opponent, tricking Alex into believing Teetsi would be an easy opponent. During the fight, Alex thought that the passage was a dance-off and Teesti easily defeated him, being given a black eye in the process.
Later, on Makunga's orders, Teetsi puts the Hat Of Shame on Alex's head.
It's unknown what has happened to him after Makunga's defeat, as Teetsi was never seen or heard from again in the rest of the film, and he didn't appear in the third film either. However, it's possible that Zuba banished Teetsi from the watering hole.
Personality[]
Most of the time, Teetsi appears to be very lazy and low key, just randomly sleeping around without much concern over his surroundings.
However he appears to become extremely aggressive if woken up suddenly and shows an insatiable love for fighting.
Appearance[]
Teetsi has the appearance of an average lion, only he is noticeably larger than others. He has a dark colored fuzzy mane, big eyebrows and a gray colored "unshaved-looking" muzzle with protruding lower fangs.
Although he is usually rather burly, when angry, his huge muscles appear to grow and pop out at will. He becomes extremely toned and muscular, sports eight-pack abs, and overall looks more intimidating.

- Teetsi's name likely derives from the name of the tsetse fly, which is an African insect notorious for being a vector of sleeping sickness.
- Teetsi is the first and only villain of the Madagascar franchise to win (especially when he manages to defeat Alex in the Rite Of Passage).
