Tennis Ball (abbreviated T.B), is a major character in Jacknjellify's Battle for Dream Island web series.
As his name suggests, he is a sapient tennis ball and the genius assistant of Golf Ball. He is usually kept in check by her, although he is shown to be independent at times, particularly after her elimination in Battle for Dream Island Again. He is easily caught up in situations and is known to tumble away a lot when he is tripped or pushed around. He is also the best friend of Golf Ball, the archenemy of Announcer, and victim of the Fourse.
He is voiced by Cary Huang who also voices X, Match and Four among numerous other characters in the series.
Personality[]
Tennis Ball is known to be intelligent and ideal for solving problems and creating new innovations, such as grotatoes. Unfortunately, he is somewhat clumsy because of his size and the fact that he's armless. He is also cautious and prefers to think first before making most decisions. He is mostly more polite and less controlling than Golf Ball. However in BFDIA, he becomes more ruthless and villainous, starting to murder and sabotage his fellow competitors if it means winning. Thankfully, he became more of a better person following BFB where he mellowed out and reverted back to his original personality.
History[]
In Battle for Dream Island, Tennis Ball competed on the show and was put on the Squashy Grapes team. After winning several times on the team, he was moved to the newly-formed Another Name team with Golf Ball, Rocky, Firey, and Coiny. He ended up being briefly switched to the Squashy Grapes again before the teams were split, and was up for elimination several times on the show. He eventually was eliminated around the same time David joined the game, and the Announcer mocked him for his clumsy behavior several times in the show. Tennis Ball eventually got revenge by attempting to demagnetize the Announcer, only to be sent back when he failed to rejoin. When Firey won the season, he was allowed in, but Leafy ended up stealing the island because Firey didn't let her in. He along with several other contestants chased Leafy in her and Firey's escape.
In Battle for Dream Island Again, he participates again in the season, but shows his more sinister side as the series goes on. After Leafy escaped and Pin ripped up the map she used to escape, they went back to Goiky and he along with Golf Ball got to compete in the season. He was placed on the No-Name team along with everyone except Coiny, Pin, and Donut. During this season, we got to see more of his friendship with Golf Ball. When the team split into two and others went to their rival team, Tennis Ball, Firey, Rocky, Gelatin, and Fries stayed. He briefly switched to the Beautiful Face Devotion Institute team along with everyone currently competing except Fries, but disbanded when they found out about Ice Cube's "ugly face". After Golf Ball's elimination, he formed a minor friendship with Nickel before his elimination due to no one else being available. After Nickel's elimination, he revealed his sinister side to everyone and became more ruthless, and it reached its breaking point in BFDIA 22, where he valued the competition more than anything else and went as far to nearly cause Woody's second near-permanent demise. Before that, he also resorted to murdering his friends just to win BFDIA 19 (including Golf Ball and Nickel), and sold them to Evil Leafy in BFDIA 20.
In dnalsI maerD rof ettlaB (Season 3), Tennis Ball does not get much coverage due to the season only having one season so far. He is shown to be around Golf Ball again, implying that he has gone back to being polite and respectful. He also was mentioned to have invented grotatoes (potatoes that grow without sunlight). He goes with Golf Ball to enter the Yoyle City museum and while there, he steals a wall teleporter with the idea of freeing the LOL members, although it is not out of genuine heroism, but rather to control Rocky's vomit, who vomits at him as a response.
In Battle for Battle for Dream Island (mainly known as Battle for BFDI), Tennis Ball stays with Golf Ball as usual and stays with her on the team A Better Name Than That along with Grassy, Robot Flower, Basketball, Blocky, 8 Ball, and TV. He did not do much during the season, but he is hinted to have presumably helped with the creation of Robot Flower. In BFB 6, his team was sent to the moon along with team Bleh[1] and was stuck there until BFB 8, where Donut used his reality-warping camera to move Earth to where the moon is. During that time, he did as much as he could to prevent both teams from losing by reluctantly hacking Remote. He also was one of the survivors of the lava flood in BFB 14, as revealed in the subsequent episode, along with Blocky and Robot Flower. In BFB 16, he and everyone else on the team (except Blocky) switched to Two's show to compete for his power.
In Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two, Tennis Ball stays with Golf Ball again and joins her in forming the team Are You Okay (which he named) with Pen, Eraser, Puffball, TV, and Fries. As the season is ongoing, he became one of the last remaining members on his team alongside Pen and Golf Ball, eventually joining 🎶🎶. He ended up starting a rivalry with the Fourse after Pillow's notes ended up on him, one of which insulted the Fourse. For the time, the Fourse chased Tennis Ball everywhere, eventually mauling him to death in TPOT 19. He currently has yet to be revived, although it is likely as Winner, Loser, and Grassy are still at Northern Goiky with the wireless recovery center.
