Tepe Tree is an ancient spirit that resides on the island of Madagascar and appears to be a tree that feeds on every being that enters the jungle, this being their territory. Appears for the first time as main antagonist in the episode with same name of the series, Las Leyendas: Creaturas Ocultas.
Appearance[]
The Tepe Tree is an anthropomorphic tree-like monster. It has a light green mask (similar to that of African communities), with black details on its lips and face. It has white eyes. On top of it, it has long, movable green leaves and one of a darker tone. Its body consists of an "armor" made of a gray trunk with brown stripes. Its hands are dark green, and its arms are connected by brown and jungle green vines. The same goes for its 3 "arthropod" style legs. On its waist, it has its real jaw with green lips and sharp teeth, as well as a second mouth inside it, smaller but deadly.
Personality[]
It is a rather territorial and hungry monster, which does not hesitate for a second to devour all those who cross its territory.
Biography[]
Long ago, an evil being merged with a giant shade tree that shunned sunlight, preferring to attack any living being at night to steal their souls and disappear into the jungle, where it would drive away anyone who invaded its territory.
He appears at the beginning of the episode stalking a man who was walking through his territory, whom he ends up devouring before he manages to get out of there.
After sensing intruders in his home, he begins to sneak around the jungle, camouflaging himself as a tree. He then reveals himself to Leo's team, roaring loudly. Leo catches Leo and Alebrije, and is nearly attacked with a beacon and fire, but Don Andrés and Teodora miss. When the monster is about to devour them, Rasbután arrives to confront him, using his staff to hit him on the wrists, thus releasing his prey. He then accidentally eats the fire that the man throws at him, incinerating his jaw and fleeing screaming in pain back into the jungle.
As Leo's team stokes the fire around Rasbutan's home, they hear his footsteps sneaking through the vegetation. As they place more logs on one of the bonfires, the demon finds himself face to face with Leo, revealing his camouflage in the flames. He then becomes enraged and attacks Rasbutan, but is flashed by Teodora's cell phone, irritating his eyes. He continues to flee from the bonfires that are growing with the wood. After the flames die down, he reappears to corner them, more Rasbutan stays to stop him. In the distance, his roars continue to be heard. Once again, he finds Leo's team, with Rasbutan's staff in his mouth, and destroys it. He chases them, briefly trapping Alebrije, but Leo manages to cover his eyes with one of his traps and thus free him.
Along the way, she comes to a set of termite nests, and there, Teodora takes the folding hook to tie it between trees and nests, managing to immobilize it for a few moments, although after a while it manages to free itself, releasing piles of termites.
She catches Leo even more enraged, and is attacked by Don Andrés, but defeats him with ease. When Teodora creates a version of herself filled with termites with Rasbután's book, she faces him with some difficulty, but manages to completely immobilize him. With the order that it was time for dinner, the termites enter his body to eat him in a matter of seconds, so that he ends up being dismembered by the insects, dying in the process.
During the episode Caipora, he appears during Leo's nightmare, stalking him through the vegetation and chasing him to try to eat him. However, Godofredo arrives to fight him, although he later eats him.
