Terrance Mendoza is the main antagonist of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation's 8th full-length feature film Tom & Jerry.
He is the deputy general manager of the Royal Gate Hotel and Kayla's scheming boss. He is also the (former) arch-nemesis of Tom and Jerry.
He was portrayed by Michael Peña in his third villainous role, who also played Grubber in My Little Pony: The Movie and It in A Wrinkle in Time.
Biography[]
Terrance works at the Royal Gate Hotel. When a girl named Kayla gets interviewed for a job there, Terrance at first objects but his boss, Mr. Dubros, convinces him to change his mind and hires her.
When Jerry is first noticed in the hotel at the kitchen. Terrance tasks Kayla to get rid of him. When Kayla suggests to have Tom get rid of Jerry, Terrance objects but Dubros agrees. After Terrance walks Spike, it causes a chase between Tom, Jerry and Spike which causes damage to the hotel. Terrance attempts to have Kayla and Tom fired, but Dubros has him put on leave and has Kayla as his replacement.
When Terrance sees Tom and Jerry (on TV) being taken by animal control for their role of causing the Yankees baseball team to lose, he visits them separately at the shelter, feeding them lies about each other in order to get them to fight each other at the wedding to sabotage Kayla and get her fired. He also promises Tom that he can live at the hotel and Jerry that he can attend the wedding. His plan works and the wedding is ruined, which has Preeta renounce the wedding and makes Kayla come clean about stealing someone else's resume. Upon getting his job back, Terrance betrays Tom and kicks him out of the hotel.
When Kayla, Tom, and Jerry come back to the hotel and try to fix everything and reconcile with everyone, Terrance refuses to listen to them at first, but changes his mind when Kayla reveals to him that she found out what he did from Tom and Jerry and threatens to expose him if he doesn't help get Preeta and Ben back together. The two reconcile and the wedding is able to happen with Terrance rehiring Kayla.

- Terrance is the first Tom and Jerry villain to be live action.
- Peter Dinklage initially got the role, but the producers think he is too short to portray the villain. The role was ultimately given to Michael Peña.
