~ Terrence warning Sal Fisher regarding the infected in Addison Apartments, before ordering him to kill anyone. |
Terrence Addison, also later known as The Endless One, is the secondary antagonist of the 2016 video game Sally Face.
He is the reclusive landlord of Addison Apartments, who is often seen selling tea for its tenants for cheap, with his discernible appearance being him seen in front of the door's mail slot.
However, it was later revealed that Terrence has been long dead, who is later transformed into a monstrous being known as The Endless One by the Red-Eyed Demon, and later proceeded to infect the rest of the apartment's tenants with the Dark. After his defeat at the hands of Sal Fisher, a younger version of Addison later proceeded to order Sal to kill all of the infected tenants inside the apartment in an effort to prevent the spread of the plague from around the world.
Appearance[]
Terrence Addison[]
From his mail slot, at first, all that could be seen were his eyes, and occasionally his hand, all other features being hidden and indistinct. He eventually revealed himself to have brown eyes and hair, and to be wearing an orange long-sleeved shirt.
As a 12-year-old child in the past, Terrence was seen wearing a yellowish baseball cap, an orange long-sleeved shirt, and green pants.
The Endless One[]
As the Endless One, after Addison's transformation, his face, which was perched atop the mound of emerald-green amorphous slime, was all that was left of his former humanity. Several of his protrusions grew out into human limbs (as well as one hand that appeared almost lizard-like).
He had a vertical mouth filled with sharp fangs, six gigantic black eyes, each encircled by several smaller eyes. A thorough inspection revealed that his torso was covered in a variety of human-like faces. It's likely that he was much bigger than what was seen, and that what was seen was only a small fraction of his being, as per the title of his name.
Personality[]
Terrence Addison was a young boy who was easily influenced and eager to please his father. The fact that he had to kill his own family to stop the spread of Red Eyes only made him more cautious than he was already.
He carried on the family company with a spring in his step and a welcoming approach for renters, visitors, and longstanding customers equally while getting afflicted and gradually losing his personal characteristics.
As the Endless One, he is the complete opposite of his regular personality, as he was shown to be condescending, haughty, and malevolent. He was well known for making fun of Sal at those times and reiterating that "Terrence" had long since gone.
Background[]
Past[]
The Addison Family, who were connected to the Devourers of God, relocated to Nockfell in 1887 after purchasing some land from Alyson Rosenberg. Due to this, the cult's underground temple was expanded and Addison Apartments were built.
In 1905, Terrence was born. He was chosen to be the entrance point of The Endless One shortly after his birth when his parents made a bargain with the cult's Council. He was surreptitiously fed human flesh from an early age. Terrence, who was blind to his parents' behaviour, developed a father-hero complex and aspirations to run a tea store.
The Endless One shattered Terrence's soul somewhere between 1917 and 1932, and his parents were killed. In order to keep their secret hidden and to draw strength from the creature, the Council kept him in his room as his looks began to alter.
Terrence was able to effectively conceal the changes to his body and spirit over the years and presented as just a worried landlord.
Sally Face[]
After Charley Mansfield was apprehended and Sandy Sanderson was killed by the former, Terrence hurriedly put in new security cameras all throughout the apartment complex to allay the tenants' roiling fears.
When Sal approaches Terrence and asks him if he's considering opening a tea shop to pursue his own ambitions, Terrence considers the question and then declares his commitment to upholding his father's vision while also indicating his willingness to start charging his tenants for tea, which costed 25 cents, rather than providing it for free.
Terrence started his own tea mini-business in the days before the Bologna Incident, operating it from the comfort of his bed and promoting it with a sign that Larry Johnson gave him.
Sal found Terrence's now-true form, The Endless One, on the day of the Addison Apartments Massacre. Terrence effectively infected every tenants in his building with The Dark through his metamorphosis, achieving the Cult's ultimate purpose.
Later on, Sal encountered the actual Terrence after his Endless One form being slain by the Necrolight Guitar, who assigned him a horrible assignment to preserve the safety of the populace: kill everyone who had been infected by the darkness of Red Eyes, similar his previous attempt, years ago.
Sal reluctantly agreed, and Terrence vanished. It is unclear if he was absorbed with the other spirits or remains stuck as a ghost in the apartment complex.
Trivia[]
- Despite having a full name, Terrence is never mentioned by his first name.
