“ | Ladies and gentlemen, we interrupt your regularly scheduled program, to bring you something truly special, a new auction. Introducing... Mr. Sam Winchester! | „ |
~ Clegg brodcasting another auction after capturing Sam. |
“ | Clegg: See, those freaks that you and your brother chase, those are just the ones that can't pass, either because they're too mean or they're too stupid, or both. But most monsters, hell, they could be your next door neighbor. They work a regular job, mow the lawns on a Saturday. And they need to eat, which is where I come in. Sam: So you sell them people. Clegg: I sell them people other people won't miss. And because I do that, I save lives. If my customers didn't have me, then all those hungry, hungry hippos would be out there hurtin' and killin'. And you couldn't stop them. No one could. You should be thanking me. Sam: Yeah. All right. Go to hell. Clegg: I'll see you there. |

Terrance Clegg is the main antagonist of the Supernatural episode "Breakdown".
He is an FBI agent who at some point in his life discovered that there exist monsters. He decided to become their food delivery partner by selling organs from random travelers who he kidnapped.
He was portrayed by Chris William Martin.
Appearance[]
He looks like an ordinary middle-aged man with black gray hair. He has green gray eyes. He is wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a red patterned tie.
Personality[]
He is a remorseless psychopath who has no problems with kidnapping and torturing innocent people to get food for monters. He also seems to enjoy torturing, making it seem like a gameshow in the way he talks. He also usually tortures his victims slow so they can feel it, only attempting to do Sam fast since Dean was close.
Biography[]
Not much is known about his life other than he was an FBI agent who discovered the existence of monsters and hunters who kill them. He realized that there were too many monsters to keep them from humans. Therefore he used his FBI ressources to create an underground business to keep the monsters feed.
He calls himself The Butterfly and has been kidnapping people the last twelve years. He moves around the USA. In the winter he is in the south and in the summer he is in the northern states. It is implied that he has abducted and killed more than ten people and then sold their organs to the highest bidding monsters. It is on the Dark web he sells the victims organs. He targets people who travel alone. At a unknown point in time he formed a partnership with unnamed man known man known as The Harvester and a vampire named Marlon.
He meets Dean and Sam because he has kidnapped Donna’s niece Wendy near Oshkosh, Nebraska. He lets them help on the case. He tries to frame a road preacher named Hankey for the kidnapping of Wendy and another victim, Luis Fernando but Donna and Sam don’t think Hankey did it. When Dean, Sam, and Donna get close to solving the case after having seen the online bidding on Fernando’s arm on the Dark web, they ask Terrance for help. He sends them on a wild goose chase. He kidnaps Sam and tries to kill him after having sold his liver and heart. Just as he is about to shoot Sam, he is killed by Dean.
Trivia[]
- Despite his lack of resources compared to other villains in Supernatural, like Arthur Ketch or the Stynes, Clegg is arguably one of, if not the most, dangerous human threats the Winchesters have come across.
