Biography[]
Past[]
Many years before the events of the movie, Tetra was the daughter of a court sorceress, who was later accuse of placing a curse on a priest. She witness her mother being killed by an unnamed Witcher, who was hired to kill her in order to get rid of the curse. Somehow, the priest's health started to improve and told everyone that Tetra's mother is the perpetrator of his illness. But Tetra found out the truth that the Witcher and the priest's chef were responsible for the man's illness and did it to earn money from him. With this realization, Tetra started to hate Witchers with the belief that they are greedy monsters, who never cared for the lives of others. Later on in life, she became the court mage and advisor for King Dagread after her training in Aretuza. During these times, she has become very outspoken on the eradication of Witchers.
Nightmare of the Wolf[]
While speaking about her ideas on the Witchers, Tetra actually hid her true reasons and hid it through purist and extremist views. Humans are willing to listen to her and relate to some of her views and, like her, oppose the presence of witchers in Kaedwen. She suggested that the witchers were setting up monsters in the region to attack as a way to gain a new contract from others. Her allegations gain the attention of Illyana Zerbst, Kaedwen's royal counciler, who strongly disagree with Tetra's harsh prejudice against witchers. They meet privately with Gilcrest hoping to change her mind but no avail since Lady Zerbst views witchers as friendly monster hunters due to her friendship with one of them name Vesemir. Back at court they continue to argue with Gilcrest mentioning Zerbst's humble past and that her status is only honorary as a way to present the lady as someone to not take seriously.
Tetra's hatred for the witchers worsen when she discovered that the grandmaster of the witcher school of the wolf, Deglan, has been creating monsters with his mage and crossbreeding them. One of the monsters that they breed, Kitsu, escaped from Kaer Morhen and tried to create more crossbreeds by killing many local humans and elven girls. Tetra used these events as opportunity to manipulate Kitsu for her plans towards the witchers by transporting the many monsters to Kaer Morhen. She gathered a human army and send all of them including the monsters to attack the fortress, which lead to many casualties on both sides. Tetra's heads inside the fortress to find and kill their mage, Reidrich, so she can officially end the witchers for good until Vesemir arrived to stop her but placed under an illusion spell by Kitsu to give Tetra some time. This illusion lead Vesemir to accidentally killed Illyana.
After freeing himself from the spell, he fought against Tetra and tried to kill her for tricking him into killing his childhood friend. Tetra almost got the upper hand until Deglan intervene by throwing an axe at her, killing the sorceress for good. Despite Gilcrest death, she has caused significant damage to the school of the Wolf and successfully destroy their secrets of creating more witchers.
