Tetsuro Shigemura is the main antagonist of the movie Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale.
He was voiced by Takeshi Kaga in Japanese and Jamieson Price in English (who also voiced Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 9)
Biography[]
The father of the late Yuuna Shigemura, he dearly loved his daughter, but he was also strict towards her, such as only allowing his daughter to perform classical music. Following the death of his daughter, Tetsuro devised a plan to resurrect his daughter as an artificial intelligence by stealing memories related to his daughter from the Sword Art Online survivors and then using deep learning to simulate his daughter's personality based on these fragments. To this end, he created Augma in December of 2024 and gained access to the original SAO server.
During the climax of the film, Tetsuro was going to commit a mass human sacrifice ritual to resurrect his dead daughter. However, he was confronted by the AI version of Yuuna, YUNA. In spite of her protests, Tetsuro remained obstinate in his goal. Ultimately, Tetsuro was thwarted by YUNA and taken into custody by Seijirou Kikuoka. In exchange for avoiding prison time, he was forced to relinquish YUNA and brought into Rath to work on a top-secret project called Alicization.
