Thatch is a playable character on the 2D platform fighter online video game Brawlhalla. He is an insane pirate whose obsession are burning and destroying ships across the sea, wreaking havoc just his for lust for destruction. Upon arriving to Valhalla, he only seeks more chaos he could wreak within the Grand Tournament.
The 8th legend added to the game, Thatch was released on August 26, 2014, being one of the earliest legends on the game.

Lore[]
Using the devil's own double-headed coin, Thatch obtained his ship and wrecked more devastation on it than any other pirate before or since. Hundreds of ships were sunk, dozens of ports were taken over, and at least two volcanoes prematurely erupted as a result of his fixation with lighting the globe on fire and his love of black powder.
There were so many ghosts on Thatch's ship that they haunted in shifts. He engages in his preferred drinking game, "Drink whenever Thatch sports facial hair." With a marriage license to support his claim, he says he is wed to the water. If he hadn't forced her to cross the plank, only a mother could fall in love with his face.
Thatch sees the Tournament as a fire and chaos paradise, but even that can't quench his desire for mayhem. Out of pure bloodlust, he assists Vraxx in his schemes to take over Valhalla, and when he gets bored, he will set up lethal traps that he refers to as "pranks" for his fellow Legends. Knowing that there must be treasure hidden somewhere by the gods, he sneaks out at night to dig holes.
He is also mentioned in other legends' lores; such as Ragnir wrested so much gold from him that he is the pirate’s Moby Dick, Caspian stole his beard and replaced it with bees, and he learned to tap his deepest inner lunatic to summon his Spirit Shark from Lin Fei; being closest he ever came to gratitude.
Gameplay[]
Thatch is a very offensive yet low-defense legend, whose main advantages are his good speed, high strength, and generous hitboxes. His base stance consist of seven points of strength and speed, five points of dexterity and three points of defence. He uses sword and blasters, which are named Boarding Cutlass and Hand Cannons respectively. His sword signatures generally consist of water-based ones, while his blasters signatures emerge powerful projections, including huge cannons.
Trivia[]
- It is theorized that Thatch is the Poseidon who was struck by Zeus's lightning bolt in an effort to control Atlantis, and fell to earth with his memory gone, doomed to wander the seas as a madman, as referenced in Mako's lore. This reference to a "madman," plus Mako suggesting her parents were "a lunatic and the sea" all but confirms that Thatch was/is Poseidon & Mako's father.
