The Angler is a major character in Inscryption, being a major antagonist in Act I, a supporting antagonist in Act II, and one of the two deuteragonists of Act III (Alongside the Lonely Wizbot.) He is one of Leshy's henchmen.
Personality[]
The Angler is an intimidating person, using few words in speech. He is strong, but silent. Towering over most characters in the game. He is very loyal to Leshy. He adds "fish" to words which describe things he finds "good". (Leshy fish for Leshy, corrupted fish for the OLD_DATA which he gave to Leshy.).
Biography[]
Act I[]
The Angler is the only character in Act I who cannot be encountered through events. Instead, he can only be encountered in his battle at the Wetlands where he will use his fish hook to steal the player's most recently placed cards. In his second phase however, he will place shark bait in front of all the player's cards which will spawn a great white upon being defeated. Once the Angler is defeated for the first time, Leshy will tell the player that he'd like to redeem himself by giving the player his fish hook. This fish hook is restocked at the start of each campaign.
Act II[]
The Angler is found blocking a bridge at Leshy's cabin during Act II. The player must catch a fish and use the camera given to them by Leshy to take a picture and give it to the Angler, so that they may commence in a card battle. After their battle, the Angler will relocate to the docs alongside Rebecha. If the player talks to him, he'll reveal that he is the one who found the OLD_DATA for Leshy, allowing him to take over the game in the first place.
Act III[]
After P03 takes over the game, the Fishbot is one of the only talking cards that can be found along with the Lonely Wizbot. Due to the nature of P03's game, in the event that the player destroys the Fishbot he is permanently gone. He has tankier stats than the Wizbot, bearing three health and one damage. He has a decent cost of three energy for his stats, making him perfect for obtaining the transformer sigil. He also has the gift bearer sigil, having a chance of dropping one of three cards upon death: Good fish, bad fish, and more fish. He is hidden in a container in the inspection room in P03's factory.
