~ The Anomaly's last words before being killed by his future self.
George Tarleton, better known as M.O.D.O.K. and later The Anomaly, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Hexus) of the Hulu series M.O.D.O.K.
He is the college-aged version of the titular character, who, after encountering his future counterpart, became disappointed in him for being a lackluster villain. He would later become dislodged from the timeline by the future M.O.D.O.K.'s Chrono Crystal and gain time-manipulating abilities, plotting to force his future self to become a better villain by destroying his family.
Like his future self, he was voiced by Patton Oswalt, who also voiced Franz in Gravity Falls, Nom Nom in We Bare Bears, Tobey McCallister in Wordgirl,Professor Dementor in Kim Possible and portrayed Bruce Scorpion in Keeping Up with the Joneses.
Just like the original M.O.D.O.K., the Anomaly is a megalomaniacal supervillain bent on world domination, but unlike his adult self Young M.O.D.O.K. is notable more scheming, intelligent, competent and evil as a supervillain. After learned that his future self would become more worried about saving his broken home than fulfilling his dreams of taking over the world, Young M.O.D.O.K. become determined to destroy M.O.D.O.K.'s family, blaming them to "prevent" M.O.D.O.K. to archive his goals. After exploring potential futures thanks to Chrono-Christals embedded in his head, The Anomaly discovered that there's only one timeline where M.O.D.O.K. had success, one in which M.O.D.O.K.'s family died. Knowing that M.O.D.O.K. would not be able to sacrifice his family, the Anomaly played the villain and unfroze time, killing M.O.D.O.K.'s family. This resulted in M.O.D.O.K. defeating the Avengers and becoming Emperor of Earth.
Biography[]
Background[]
The life of this M.O.D.O.K. was same of that's original M.O.D.O.K., dreaming to conquest the world and building an advanced technological utopia. Growing up, M.O.D.O.K. moves out to college.
Birth of The Anomaly[]
At his first appearance, young M.O.D.O.K. was torturing his roommate for eating his noodles, until to be distracted by his adult self travelled back to his time. Seeing his future self, he followed him so he could ask himself questions. Having followed him throughout the older M.O.D.O.K.'s marital struggles, young M.O.D.O.K. was disgusted by the present M.O.D.O.K.'s ineptitude, stealing the Chrono-Crystal and engaging his future self in combat. This fight resulted in the Chrono-Crystal shattering and becoming embedded in M.O.D.O.K.'s head. Being returned to his own time in another reality, he found that another M.O.D.O.K. was in his place and he had been displaced with no home, taking on a new name, The Anomaly. Looking through the various possible futures for his adult self, The Anomaly went through a million realities and finding only one where M.O.D.O.K. succeeded. The Anomaly made it his mission to kill M.O.D.O.K.'s family, as the grief and trauma would result in M.O.D.O.K. becoming ruler of world.
Plotting against Tarleton Family[]
The Anomaly kidnapped the Super Adaptoid and was able to convince him to betray the Tarleton family. Working with the Super Adaptoid, the Anomaly had the Adaptoid pose as Brandi, Jodie's publicist, to make her make bad decisions and turn against the family. He then initiated the next stage of the plan with Arcade, a murderous circus-themed mercenary. During this next phase, The Anomaly kidnapped the Tarleton family and replaced them with robots. Rather then engaging directly, the Anomaly placed a robotic version of himself to confront the Tarletons. This robot duplicate, along with Arcade and the Super-Adaptoid, presented to the Tarleton family the challenge: find the real family members and kill their duplicates. However, this ended up in the Anomaly's robot duplicate being killed by Jodie and the Tarletons leaving the place, including a robot version of Lou.
Final Confrontation with M.O.D.O.K.[]
During Lou's Bar Mitzvah, The Anomaly appeared in a robot mech and launched missiles at the family. At that moment, M.O.D.O.K. shot the chrono-crystal embedded in his head, freezing time and everyone except they two. Giving a chance to talk, the Anomaly showed M.O.D.O.K. his past and the various alternate futures which result in him dying and failing, except for one but where his family died. Loving his family dearly, M.O.D.O.K. struggles with the decision of whether or not to let them die, but the Anomaly makes it for him and kills them. As it has been predicted by The Anomaly, his family's loss resulted in M.O.D.O.K. defeating the Avengers and becoming Emperor of earth. Despite ruling the world from a throne made out of Iron Man's armor, M.O.D.O.K. (now known as "Emperor M.O.D.O.K.") is unable to enjoy it and tortures the Anomaly in his lab trying to find a way to use the Anomaly's powers to go back in time and save his family. Unfortunately, the best he could manage was to temporarily open small portals showing him his family in the past, as the Anomaly smugly told M.O.D.O.K. that there was no way for him to have it all, before finally dying as the Chrono-Crystal shards lost the last of their power. A vengeful Emperor M.O.D.O.K. swears he will find another way to save his family and bringing them forward to the perfect future he'd built.
Trivia[]
