The Baboon is the main antagonist of the Happy Tree Friends episode From A to Zoo.
Biography[]
The Baboon makes its first appearance in From A to Zoo, where Toothy and Cuddles poke it with a stick while laughing. Afterward, both of them leave. Shortly after, Sniffles finds the Baboon and convinces Lumpy to take a photo of him next to it.
When Lumpy tries to take the picture, the camera flash enrages the Baboon, causing it to grab Sniffles and violently beat him against the cage. Panicking, Lumpy grabs a tranquilizer dart and attempts to shoot the Baboon, but he misses and accidentally hits Petunia instead. Meanwhile, the Baboon has already killed and torn Sniffles apart. Lumpy tries to fire another dart, but he loads it backward, causing it to hit himself and stun him for a while.
Meanwhile, the Baboon somehow escapes from its cage and notices Cuddles. As Cuddles backs away, he accidentally impales his eye on an air pump, causing eye to inflate like a balloon.
At the end of the episode, the Baboon is seen on the bus, sitting in Sniffles' seat. It then picks up Sniffles' glasses to fool Lumpy. However, when Lumpy activates a camera, the Baboon goes insane again, causing the bus to crash.
Trivia[]
- Despite the fact that all the main characters in the Happy Tree Friends franchise meet gruesome deaths, the Baboon is the first non-anthropomorphic character to die.
- Despite his name, his appearance more closely resembles a mandrill (Mandrillus sphinx), a species of monkey from Africa, than a baboon.
