FEED ME
~ The baby's catchphrase.

Hastur or simply known as The Baby in Yellow is the titular main antagonist of the 2020 game of the same name.

It is a baby that was possessed by a dark force. The Baby in Yellow has a penchant to trap his babysitters on his dimension known as Carcosa after babysitting him with the help of his mother Cassilda and attempts to do the same with the current babysitter that tries to babysit him. The baby also has no hesitations to turn into a monstrous form solely to capture his babysitter so that they could stay in Carcosa forever.

Biography[]

Normal Mode Day 1[]

The Sitter: It's time for bed.
The Child: Is that what you think?
~ The Baby in Yellow, Act 1, Scene 2.

As the game started, the sitter is going up the elevator. She gets a message from the Crown Childcare announcer saying, “This is Crown Chidcare, the gold-standard in babysitting. You have one new client message.” The sitter is confirmed to be British and responds that she wants to book 3 nights for the “Little Prince”. The sitter gets to the apartment and finds the key under the pothole. She opens the door and she performed some daily routines to take care of the baby, feeding him, changing his diapers and taking him to bed by reading. Although the sitter experience a bit of supernatural occurences such as the baby teleporting near the stairs when the sitter attempted to change his diaper. After reading the book, “The Prince and The Cat” and putting the baby to bed and wanting to watch the TV, she starts to sleep while watching a commercial for fictional toaster brand “Toastie 4000”, so that they could take a break and waiting for the parents to come home, the sitter then heard the cries of the baby as they went to the room to check what's going on. It was then revealed that the baby was not in his bedroom as the sitter attempted to find him who was then crying in the living room. After finding the baby, the sitter then brought him to bed again and put him to sleep. The door opens again, so the sitter closes it. They decided to watch TV after finishing the task while waiting for the baby's parents to come home as they began to fall asleep on the sofa.

Normal Mode Day 2[]

The Child: (Laughing) Look, look! Isn't it funny?
The Sitter: I told you not to do that!
~ The Baby in Yellow, Act 2, Scene 1

During the second day of babysitting the Baby in Yellow, the sitter was plagued by their inner thoughts again about them having a conversation with the baby as the latter attempted to play with them while asking if what he did was funny. However, he was then reprimanded by the babysitter to not do it again. After watching the TV together about a show called, “The Adventures of The Very Scared Little Rabbit” with the baby, the sitter then continued their usual routine by starting to feed him, only for the bottle to disappear. She finds it in the closet to the right side of the refrigerator. After opening the door while seeing the baby teleporting to the dining table, the sitter then fed the baby while changing his diaper after feeding him as usual. However, when the sitter attempted to change the diaper, the baby used his strange powers to bring the diaper to life for fun and having it run around the house up until the parent's bedroom so that the sitter could catch it much to the sitter's dismay. As a result, the sitter attempts to catch the diaper as it runs from them everywhere until it went into the parent's bedroom. After changing the baby's diaper, the sitter then noticed that the baby teleported near the stairs as the room went dark all of the sudden. After things went back to normal, the sitter then brought the baby to bed. She reads to the baby, “The Prince and The Rabbit”. In the middle of reading, the baby smacks the book out of the sitter’s hands. She gets the book back in her hands and finishes up. The baby sleeps. The sitter then goes to the living room and as they tried to watch TV, someone pressed a ding dong button at the door. The sitter answers it, no person is there, but a Toastie 4000 box is there. The sitter puts it in the kitchen and goes back to the TV and wait for the parents as usual. The channel then switches to a news channel hosted by Carcosas.

On the same day, however, before doing their usual routine, the sitter went inside the storage room located between the parents room and the baby's room. The storage room contained a tape of the previous babysitter recounting his experience with babysitting the Baby in Yellow as it was revealed that his soul was trapped in the apartment forever alongside the previous babysitters after babysitting the Baby in Yellow. This was further evidenced by the cat drawings scattered across the room that the babysitter had found and touched in both the First Day and the Second Day which resulted in their souls freed from the Baby in Yellow's grasp.

Normal Mode Day 3/The Final Day[]

The Sitter: Good night. Sweet dreams.
The Child: I will show you my dreams.
~ The Baby in Yellow, Act 3, Scene 3.

During the third and final day of babysitting the Baby in Yellow, the sitter was plagued by their inner thoughts again when they saw that the Baby said that he will show them his own dreams after putting him to bed. After trying to take a break from babysitting the baby by watching the TV, hard thunder or lighting starts to appear, making the sitter scared & causing The Baby to cry in the bedroom upstairs. After calming the baby down by putting him to sleep, the thunder stops and the sitter decided to have some food downstairs to furnish their appetite. Upon coming downstairs, they used the Toastie 4000 to make a sandwich for them to eat, but upon finishing it and trying to toast it, it explodes and The Baby demands his babysitter to "Feed Me". This resulted in the sitter having no choice but to feed the baby in the end. When the sitter tries to exit the refrigerator, the baby teleports to the kitchen and slams the refrigerator shut. It then turns into a freezer maze with some Babysitter Wanted posters and other food scattered around. The bottle is in a different angle of the maze, so the sitter takes it and makes their way out.

After taking the milk from the hallway, they then saw the baby with Carcosa eyes teleported to the dining room and throws a fit because he wasn't fed yet. The sitter calms him down. After feeding him, the sitter then tried to change his diaper. However, when trying to change his diaper, the baby suddenly turned into a satanic form. Assuming that he was possessed by an evil force, which he opens the toy box with flying toys around, the sitter attempts to pacify The Baby with his pacifier that they found in the parent's room during the second day. In the end however, the sitter's efforts were futile as after the sitter pacified The Baby and tried to bring him to bed, the latter still turned into his satanic form. The child gives the sitter a dream for a few seconds which he is big sitting in a chair, around with some blocks, as well as the plushies too, he then magically has Carcosa eyes, holding the “The Prince and The Sheep”. The dream ends by the baby floating going to his room. When the sitter went to his room, the baby then floats around the middle, which the sitter puts him to bed and reads “The Prince and The Sheep”. Every page when it turns, some thunder appears. The book then shakes when it goes to the last page of the book. It then gets flicked off, then revealing the baby’s true nature as a possible spawn of the Outer God, Hastur as he brought the sitter to another dimension known as Carcosa, damning their souls there alongside the other sitter as the baby said Good Night towards the sitter.

Escape Mode (Pickman & Escape)[]

quickly towards the exit, the tiny rabbit hopped.

At the start, another sitter is in the elevator going up to check the baby. They gets a message from the announcer. she replies to the message for someone to take over the other sitter's job. The apartment gets rusty as many toys are scattered. She checks the baby as the baby is not there. The rabbit plushie is alive and climbs down the shelf to help the sitter. The baby is still on his evil form, which he pops up from the top, then he makes the door slam shut.

The rabbit runs downstairs, as Carcosa circles are around the apartment. The rabbit pressed the elevator button, and sits in the elevator, the elevator then shuts. The elevator goes down, but it starts to crash. The door opens a bit, which the sitter opens all the way. The rabbit starts to lead the way, as the sitter follows it.

The rabbit goes past the door. But once the sitter reached the door to the left, they are stopped by The Baby who locked the door with a yellow crescent key and The Baby soon opens up to the apartment who was presumed to be owned by the mysterious A. Pickman. At this apartment, the sitter must grab the key from the Baby then leave but the Baby keeps teleporting when they gets too close. So the sitter looks for clues. they collects three pieces of a simple song to reveal a button that opens up a pathway to a secret room in this apartment where she finds a maze. they finds where the yellow record is, but hits a dead end by being surrounded by some log bricks being surrounded. the sitter then breaks it using a hammer and collects a yellow record where Cassilda would place it on the record player so they can distract the Baby long enough to get the yellow crescent key from the Baby. the sitter escapes with the key in their hands.

When the sitter opened the door, they noticed that the bunny had left, they go to the elevator but then finds out that the elevator is out of power. So they would find the Power Room, but at the same time, they noticed that the Baby is torturing the rabbit by ripping stuffing from its head, the Baby turns around and jumpscares them, The Baby then teleports. The sitter would go to the Power Room to fix their elevator problem. they would put the pink/blue batteries into their respective slots but the Baby would destroy the previous battery that they put in one of the battery slot. This would be repeated endlessly unless they would put the Baby down the air vent. Since the air vent was locked by a code lock which that code is 4317 based on the notes on the whiteboard and one of the lockers.

After fixing their elevator power problem and going through that elevator, the sitter would encounter the Baby again but they and the Rabbit would see the Baby turn into his demon form and it would turn into a chase scene where the sitter first has to open up a lock with a yellow circle key before going to a second point where they had to use a green crescent key and an upside down yellow triangle key before she will continue on the demon chase for a little while longer while just having a one jumpscare of the spikes coming out of the doors before she and the Rabbit entered in the elevator and last seeing the Baby being happy with the iconic demon eyes.

The Exit[]

The elevator takes The Sitter to the apartment again, they goes upstairs and finds out there is another elevator on there. But the elevator goes out of power and it takes them to the apartment again, but the baby goes to his evil form Again the Sitter a finds a matching key to one of the doors in the bedroom, which they unlock, then they head to the elevator again, which goes back to normal. The Sitter a takes the other key and opens another door. They goes upstairs to an exit, until it was just another door. It takes them to a long hallway with the baby wanting them to put him to bed. The Sitter refuses to take the baby, as baby clones would launch out of doors. They go through another hallway but this time with TVs that if the sitter looks at them they will die. The Sitter goes one more hallway and the rabbit is there. The exit is there, but when they chase it it moves away for a bit, as they both are going after it as the hallway twists sideways. The baby pushes The Sitter into another hallway, which this time, the storyteller’s voice can be heard alongside distorted pictures from the bedtime books. The Sitter finds an exit, with the Baby sitting on a baby crib hanger, but every time the sitter comes close their movement gets slower, and the hanger spins faster. The baby jumpscares the sitter again. The sitter opens the door only to find a dark dimension the baby had created with a crib in the middle that he wants the sitter to put him in. If the sitter complies, the baby will sent them back to where they we're previously jumpscared. However, the sitter could ignore his pleas by throwing him into an endless void which creates a brand new path for the sitter and the rabbit to escape. As the baby pleads for the sitter to not leave.

The doctor takes white rabbit but gives the sitter an important symbol cause the sitter finds themselves in a room with 3 doors with symbols on them, the sitter takes the door with the same symbol that the doctor gave him. The baby becomes enraged and states that they will find them. The sitter finds another exit only for the enraged baby while in his monstrous form again, trying to catch the sitter. While the sitter runs from the monster, they come across other symbols for another room with this time 5 doors with symbols on them with the sitter going through the one with the symbol they where shown. The rabbit points an arrow to a door stating that it should go in. The rabbit shuts the door locking the sitter from the enraged demonic baby as it bangs at the door. The sitter enters a vent shaft with them sliding down a steep end and breaking out the vent shaft. The baby finally having reached their absolute breaking point becomes a giant and chases the now tiny sitter. the baby uses any means to prevent them escaping such as using giant blocks, toy trains, and milk bottles. But thanks to the white rabbit's guidance, the sitter manages to escape the apartment once and for all with the baby suddenly gracefully accepted his defeat, saying that there will always be more victims for him to be trapped in his dimension.

Black cat update[]

Many years after the 2nd babysitter escaped, Cassilda was shocked and angry when she realized the 2nd Babysitter ran away & demands the last babysitter to come over and take care of her child. At the same time however, The Baby got angry over his mother failing to appease him & banished her to Carcosa. The Babysitter then escaped to a new realm thanks to The Black Cat and they explored The Doctor's basement room. At first they seem safe from The Baby, until he manages to get into the painting and followed them after they helped Newt fix the elevator. From their, he would spend the entire second act in The Doctor's laboratory, acting as an NPC that the babysitter could feed, play or placed on Newt for fun. At first he seems helpful and affable, but in "World's Collide" he drops the facade when he found out The Babysitter plans to banish him for good. He tried multiple attempts to stop them, Newt and The Black Cat by destroying the gyro-sphere and kill them in his demon form, but he failed and as such, he dies at the hands of the Gyro-Sphere. However, his legacy leaves on as The Babysitter would unwittingly open the gate to Carcosa, allowing lot's of babies who look like him to break loose upon the world. Not to mention he managed to kill Newt, a reminder that he'll always haunt The Babysitter even in death forever...

Crown's Childcare[]

In the upcoming new chapter The Babysitter seems to be in a daycare where you must take care of The Baby once again.
