~ The Bandit King to the Adventurer.
So, you decided to come back.... You think by defeating me, you stopped the boss's plan? HAHAHAHA! We took many precautions, my friend. By defeating me, all you've done is make yourself a priorty target for what the boss has planned next! But don't worry, his plan won't stop me from trying to stomp you!
~ The Bandit King directly to the Player, if they decide to fight him again after defeating him.

The Bandit King is a major antagonist from the Roblox game Adventure Story. He is the leader of the bandits and burglars who have been terrorizing Mapleburg for some time, and is also the servant of an unknown person whom he refers to as "Boss".

Appearance[]

The Bandit King is enormous in size (around 4-5 times the player's height) and has red eyes. He wears a light brown scarf that he uses to hide his face, a torn cloak of the same color, black pants, a dark gray shirt, and a silver crown on his head.

Personality[]

As can be understood from his name and his actions throughout the game, the Bandit King is a greedy, arrogant and self-important person. He is also so arrogant that he shows off his power by piling up all the gold his men have stolen around his throne. And according to his description in game, he's always got his sights "set on the bigger picture", and he's constantly striking deals with shady crowds.

However, as can be seen, despite his wealth, men and power, he seems to be extremely respectful and loyal to the person he addresses as "Boss", helping his plan without even hesitation and not thinking about himself, which is unusual for him. As of now, the reason for this is a mystery.

Biography[]

The Bandit King first appeared ten years before the events of the game. And during this 10-year period, he and his men lived by robbing anyone who used Frogville Road. However, 10 years later, he began to serve an unknown person (thought to be the Sandlord), and helped him with his plan.

After receiving orders from his "Boss", the Bandit King kidnaps Frogville's mayor, Croakurt. And tells him that no one is to use Frogville Road, or he will kill everyone who uses the road and raid the town, and sends most of his bandits to the nearby town of Mapleburg so that no one can come to their aid.

Meanwhile the Adventuer arrives in Frogville one day later and learns of the Bandit King's plan by talking to the mayor. When the Adventurer finds the him, he tells him that they've been expecting him, and that blocking the Frogville Road is just part of their plan, and that he will kill him for trying to ruin their plans. The Bandit King takes three of his men and fights the Adventurer, and despite their numerical and force superiority, the Adventurer eventually gains the upper hand. He first defeats the Bandit King's men, and then Bandit King himself, ending their terror over the town.

If the Adventurer visits the Bandit King again after defeating him, the Bandit King will break the 4th wall for a brief moment and tell him that defeating him was pointless, and he made himself a target for his "Boss".

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

  • Superhuman Strength and Durability: In direct proportion to his size, The Bandit King is much stronger than a normal human and is also durable. This is proven by the fact that he was able to break almost all of the Adventuer's bones with a single kick, and taking almost no damage from physical attacks.
  • Superhuman Endurance: Although he did take damage by the huge blows he received during the battle, he remained on his feet and kept fighting without losing his composure.
  • Shockwave Creation: The Bandit King stomps his foot, creating a long-range shockwave. In addition to taking damage, those caught in the shockwave will drop one of their items and cause it to disappear.
  • 4th Wall Awareness: Even if it was just for a brief moment, the Bandit King broke the 4th wall and spoke directly to the player. However, this is most likely just a dialouge added by the developers to prevent logical fallacies.

Abilities[]

  • Crowbar Profiency: The Bandit King uses a giant crowbar as his weapon. Due to its size, he can injure multiple people with just one quick swing of the crowbar, as well as stun them and break their bones.
  • Mastery of Stealth and Theft: Despite his giant stature, the Bandit King is a master of stealth and theft, often using his physical strength to steal players' money and even items. Furthermore, his agility with his crowbar allows him to confuse players by performing fake attacks.

Quotes[]

This burly villain has been spotted around the world as far back as 10 years ago. He's a master of stealth and theft, despite his giant stature. He's always got his sights set on the bigger picture, and he's constantly striking deals with shady crowds.
~ The Bandit King's description.

Trivia[]

  • The Bandit King is the only character in the game that does not have a flinch animation from damage. It is unknown whether this is due to his size or simply a mistake made by the developers.
  • He is technically the only character that was able to break through the 4th wall, as he directly talks to the player if they decide to fight him again (despite it not being a part of the story).
  • The Bandit King, along with Golems and Bedrock, are the only enemies to have immunities.
  • It is unknown how the Bandit King learned of the Adventurer. Most believe he was informed by his "Boss", while others believe he was simply informed by his men, but there is no evidence to support either theory.
  • While it is unknown exactly who the "Boss" he refers to is, most fans believe it to be Sandlord, though there is no solid evidence to support this.
  • The Bandit King is the only antagonist that engages in direct dialogue with the Adventurer.
    • The only antagonist that somewhat qualifies other than Bandit King is Bedrock, who only speaks when triggering its Boss Cheat.
