The Beast is a minor antagonist in the 2019 role-playing video game Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling. It is a giant, predatory centipede that inhabits the Wild Swamplands, devouring anything it sees. Before events of the game, it killed Kabbu's master and best friend Bit, fueling him with desire for vengeance against the Beast.

Past[]
Before the events of the game, Kabbu, with his master and his best friend Bit, wanted to travel from Northern Kingdoms to Bugaria to see its beautiful landscapes. To avoid the Wasp Kingdom, they decided to travel through the Wild Swamplands, which were told to be the graveyard for any bug unfortunate to cross it. Despite the warnings, the beetle trio chose to take risks and traveled through the swamps. Unfortunately, the swamplands housed the dangerous, bloodthirsty centipede known only as the Beast, and to ensure Kabbu's survival, his master and Bit sacrificed their lives, allowing the Beast to devour them while Kabbu could only watch them die. Escaping the Wild Swamplands, Kabbu felt guilty for being too weak to save his friends and ever since held a strong grudge against the Beast. While he tried to bury his past behind, he still planned to have revenge on the Beast and make it pay for killing his friends.
Bug Fables[]
In Chapter 5: The Far Wildlands, Kabbu, with Maki and his new exploration team, Team Snakemouth, was ordered to travel into Wasp Kingdom to retrieve the stolen piece of Ancient Key. Since the front of the Wasp Kingdom Hive was too guarded, Team Snakemouth and Maki had to travel through the Wild Swamplands to get to the northern walls of the Wasp Kingdom unnoticed. Kabbu, in particular, was very eager to brave its dangers, wishing to have revenge on the Beast that dwells in there.
As Team Snakemouth travels through the Wild Swamplands, they notice the Beast lurking behind the grass. Kabbu recognizes its silhouette, and Leif assures him that the team will manage to avoid it and leave the swamp, but Kabbu was not satisfied with merely avoiding it, desiring to kill it instead.
Once Team Snakemouth reaches the end of the Wild Swamplands and prepares to fight off the last wave of Leafbug Tribes, they feel a sudden tremor, which is then immediately followed by the Beast scattering Leafbugs and preparing to fight Team Snakemouth. Leif and Vi insisted on escaping, yet Kabbu was determinant to have vengeance on the Beast for killing his friends and refused to escape, initiating the fight as it was too late to run.
During the fierce battle, once Team Snakemouth was close to finishing the Beast off, it then proceeded to severely wound Vi and Leif, nearly killing them as Kabbu watched, with him finally realizing that his thirst for vengeance almost led to the story repeating itself and tarnished the sacrifice of his old friends. The Beast then attempted to finish him off as well, but Kabbu, determined to finish the Beast off not for revenge, but to protect his new friends, refuses to fall and wills himself back into full strength, finally killing the Beast and avenging his fallen friends, as well as saving his new ones.

- The Beast is an Amazonian giant centipede, one of the largest and most dangerous species of centipedes in the world.
- The Beast appears to recognize Kabbu and take sadistic pleasure from his suffering, as evidenced by the fact it constantly sports an evil grin every time it attacks, and specifically harms Vi and Leif first before trying to finish Kabbu off as well.
- The Beast can be viewed as an eviler version of the Spider, as they are both large, imposing predators who have ended the lives of many explorers. However, the difference is that the Spider was just acting on instinct, while the Beast seems sentient to a degree, and takes sadistic joy in killing its victims.
