They were a notorious quartet of sibling Stalkers, seeking to raise enough Ergo to escape the dying city of Krat. To this end, they worked as grunts for Alchemists. With almost enough to escape, they attempt to taken on P, only for their Eldest brother to fall in battle. As a result, the remaining three siblings seek revenge against Geppetto's puppet.

The Battle Maniac was voiced by Gregg Lowe, who also voiced Thomas Rempart in Watch Dogs: Legion, the Eccentric was voiced by Connor Finch and the Youngest was voiced by Charlie Cameron. The Eldest has no voicelines.

Biography[]

The Brotherhood were four siblings who worked as Stalkers. In an effort to raise Ergo for their broker in order to leave Krat, they began to work for the Alchemists. Carrying out various odd jobs for them, often at the expense of the residents of the Malum District, they were recognized as dangerous criminals by Krat Police, who promised a reward for them, dead or alive. Among the Alchemists' requests was Gold Coin Fruit, which could only be obtained from the Gold Coin Tree in Hotel Krat.

While this was near their base in the Malum District, they constantly risked detection, and they didn't want to have to resort to violence, lest one of their siblings be grievously hurt. Eventually, they almost raised enough to give one final payment to their broker, which would finally allow them to leave Krat. As P made his way through the Path of the Pilgrim, the Battle Maniac accosted him with a megaphone before opening a gate and unleashing an Elite Carcass, fleeing back to the Malum District while give a sarcastic 'Safety Reminder' to the people of the district to be wary of a 'nasty puppet.'

Upon realizing the intruder to the Malum District was Geppetto's Puppet, P, they promised anyone who hunted him down would not have to pay their protection fee. As he journeyed through Malum, the younger siblings pester him, but don't risk a full confrontation. When P finally entered Malum District Town Hall, the four Stalkers confront him, even bringing a coffin to the fight to store his corpse in. The Eldest continually applied pressure while his younger siblings switched between them, keeping it a constant fight of two on one, but they were eventually overcome and the Eldest was slain. The Maniac and the Eccentric curse the puppet, while the Youngest breaks down into tears in sadness at the death of her brother. Using a gas canister to cover their escape, they swore revenge against P as they took their elder sibling's body with them.

Later, the Alchemists tasked them with kidnapping Giuseppe Geppetto. Helped by Alidoro, secretly a traitor named Parrot, they raided Hotel Krat and kidnapped him. Meanwhile, the Alchemists experimented on the corpse of their elder brother. P pursued the trio to the Relic of Trismegistus, where they confronted him once more. As he slew two of them, a horribly mutated Eldest emerged from the coffin they had initially threatened to put him in. The remaining sibling was horrified at what the Alchemists had done, but was sure the return of their brother would result in victory. However, P defeated them, ending the siblings for good.

Trivia[]

  • The Brotherhood are a reference to the Undertaker Rabbits from the original novel written by Carlo Collodi. When Pinocchio refused to drink the medicine from the Blue Fairy, she summons a quartet of black rabbits, carrying a tiny coffin to scare him into taking the medicine.
  • Defeating the Brotherhood in their first encounter rewards P with the Taunt Gesture.
  • They are the only boss not to drop Rare Ergo.
    • While the Corrupted Parade Master doesn't drop Rare Ergo either, the Parade Leader's Ergo was received in his initial fight as the Parade Master.
    • This is due to their status as regular humans, while every other boss is an advanced puppet or have received some form of modification or mutation.
