The Bridge Bike Gang are the main antagonists in the titular episode of Pokémon: Indigo League.
History[]
As Ash Ketchum, Misty and Brock are cycling en route to the Sunny Town Pokémon Center to deliver medicine to a sick Shellder, they encounter a local bicycle gang that claims the Cycling Road as their territory. Chopper, the leader of the gang, challenges them to a Pokémon battle. Before they start, Brock makes a pass at the lieutenant of the gang, Tyra, who knocks him to the ground and rejects him. The battle is interrupted by the intrusion of Jessie, James and Meowth of Team Rocket. It is then revealed that Jessie and James were once members of the gang. Chopper and Tyra reunite with and idolize them. Jessie then asks the gang to capture Ash, Misty, Brock and their Pokémon, which Chopper gladly accepts. But before the gang can attack Ash and his friends, the police arrive and they escape.
During a rainstorm, Team Rocket and the biker gang take shelter in a building while watching Ash, Misty and Brock riding their bicycles in the storm. Chopper and Tyra then try to persuade Jessie and James into riding through the storm as well. Falling under peer pressure, Team Rocket gives in. The gang go out in the rain to cheer them, as Jessie and James reluctantly ride their unicycles. As Ash and his friends and Team Rocket peddle up on each side of the upturned bridge and into the air, the gang (especially Tyra) are concerned they are not going to make it. However, Ash, Misty and Brock bounce on Jessie's and James' heads, making it to the other side and sending Team Rocket into the water. The gang looks at them with surprise and admiration, and Chopper compliments them. He challenges Ash and his friends to another battle as they ride near them, but Ash tells him they are on their way to deliver medicine for a sick Pokémon. Impressed by their bravery, the bike gang escorts Ash, Misty and Brock to the Pokémon Center and continue to praise them, although Tyra hits Brock again when he flirts with her.
