The Brotherhood of Stilwater, more commonly referred to as just The Brotherhood are one of the three secondary antagonistic groups of Saints Row 2 along with The Ronin and the Sons of Samedi. They are a brutal gang of people formed from outcasts of Stilwater's society, who are most known for their extensive tattoos and large vehicles. The Brotherhood also reappear in Saints Row IV along with other gangs from the first 3 games when they are ressurected by Zinyak.

Story[]

The Brotherhood was formed by Maero, along with his girlfriend Jessica Parish, and his best friend, Matt, and later they recruited former Westside Rollerz mechanic Donnie Wong into their ranks as well. Maero led The Brotherhood, Jessica handled financing, Matt tattooed the gang's members, and Donnie modified their cars and kept them in tune. Soon Maero heard of the resurrection of the 3rd Street Saints and rather than prepare for war, he reached out to Saints lieutenant Carlos Mendoza to try to make a deal with The Boss, however when the 3 met in the Stilwater Caverns, they were ambushed by the Stilwater Police Department, but managed to escape, Then Maero gave them his deal that The Brotherhood would take 80% of Stilwater, while the Saints, who used to own the whole city, would only get 20%, The Boss, outraged at Maero's unfair deal, declares war on his gang as he and Carlos storm out of The Brotherhood's hideout. Later, The Boss forces Donnie, at gunpoint, to rig various Brotherhood trucks to explode, and although they hit a snag with the last one when the detonator stops working, The Boss is successful in the sabotage and leaves Donnie outside of the Brotherhood hideout to face and angry Maero who nearly kills Donnie but is stopped by Jessica when she asks who will fix her car. After destroying various Brotherhood operations around the city, The Boss and Carlos meet on a subway train to discuss their next move, however Carlos has barely anything to offer other than he knows that they like tattoos and trucks and that he heard one thug mention a shipment of some kind, when The Boss suddenly eyes the nuclear power plant in the distance and gets an idea. The Boss and Carlos then sneak onto the power plant island and fight through the Ultor security teams and manage to steal a small container of nuclear waste, then they escape from the island, and after their chopper crashes, they drive to the tattoo parlor near The Brotherhood hideout, where Maero is going to be getting a new tattoo and sneak the nuclear waste into the ink, which causes the tattoo to burn and scar his face after Matt applies the tattoo. In retaliation, Jessica kidnaps Carlos and tauntingly calls The Boss, telling them that since they gave Maero a "makeover" she would return the favor. The Boss immediately drives to Donnie's garage, fights off a group of Brotherhood thugs, and attempts to get the information from Donnie, who at first refuses to say anything, but ultimately concedes and tells him that he heard the thugs Maero and Jessica ordered to kidnap Carlos said they were going to "take him on a ride around the docks". The Boss drives to the docks only to find a brutal sight, Carlos, who has been chained to the back of a Brotherhood Compensator truck, is being dragged along the roads. The Boss, continuing to fight off more Brotherhood thugs is able to damage the truck enough to force it to stop and kills the drivers. The Boss runs over to help Carlos and finds him badly scrapped up from being dragged. The Boss turns him over and recoils when Carlos yelps out in pain, he then attempts to disconnect him from the truck by breaking the chain to no avail. The Boss, seeing no other option, gets Carlos' silent approval and mercy kills him with a shot to the head. Later The Boss is called by Shaundi, who had just nearly been run over by Jessica, who informs them of Jessica's location. The Boss, looking to send Maero a message and avenge Carlos, enters the bank and takes Jessica hostage, he then forces her at gunpoint to shut off the bank's alarm, and takes her to her car and stuffs her into the trunk, he then drives her to the Stilwater University Arena with the Police in hot pursuit and leaves her car inside the arena, where Maero is competing in a monster truck rally. As the other cars are crushed Maero jumps off the ramp and, unaware that his girlfriend's car is at the very end of the ramp, lands directly on it, killing Jessica instantly, and later mistakingly hits the car again, all before The Boss walks onto the arena, clapping. Maero, noticing The Boss, declares that he's going to kill them right there and right at that moment, instead, The Boss denies this and tosses Maero Jessica's car keys telling him "When you look in the trunk, just remember: you should have offered me something better than 20%." as Maero looks at his Girlfriends keys in disbelief he runs over to what he now recognizes as her car and lifts the trunk, only to be met with his Girlfriend's mangled corpse and realizing he accidentally killed her, falls to his knees in shock and grief. The Boss then devises another plan to get information on The Brotherhood's shipment by intimidating Matt while he's performing with his band, the Feed Dogs. The Boss, as well as Pierce Washington, steal the Feed Dogs' firework truck and fight off several Brotherhood and Police as they use the truck to sneak into the concert. After infiltrating the concert, The Boss hits Matt and fires a shot to scare off the crowd and interrogates Matt, who reveals the shipment is coming in by boat and that's all he knows, before The Boss activates the stage pyrotechnics and burns Matt's hand. Later Maero launches a full scale attack on the Saints territory, forcing the Boss to defend his gang's turf. Later Maero is able to threaten Dane Vogel to have Police Chief Troy Bradshaw release all of the imprisoned Brotherhood members, however once The Boss learns that the Brotherhood members are being released he attacks their transports and kills them. Maero learns this and storms into Dane's office, however Dane, no longer intimidated by him, has his Masako soldiers escort Maero out, but not before telling him that Ultor has taken custody of his weapon shipment as payment for releasing his gang, further enraging Maero. Maero later sends some of his thugs to retake the boat carrying the weapons, however they are killed by The Boss, and the weapons fall into the custody of the Saints. Using their new weapons the Saints launch a full scale attack on the Brotherhood hideout, and The Boss faces Maero on the roof of one of the Warehouses, however Maero manages to escape with the help of Donnie, while Matt is killed. Later The Boss faces Maero, who is driving his monster truck and is supported by the few remaining Brotherhood members, in the Ultor Arena and ultimately kills him, ending The Brotherhood's reign.
