Villain Overview

Proof that all children don't get to be innocent, The Bullies aren't tragic figures, no cruel parents to blame, and don't secretly crave your friendship. They are Bullies, and they will get you if you don't get them first.
~ Description of the Bullies on the Little Nightmares 2 website.

The Bullies are supporting antagonists in the 2021 indie horror video game Little Nightmares 2, serving as the secondary antagonists of the second chapter "The School". They are untamed, living porcelain dolls that serve as both the students and minions of the Teacher. They attack any unfortunate trespassers who wander through the school.

Characteristics[]

The Bullies are rowdy pranksters who love to have fun. They have laid traps all over the school, mainly buckets tied to ropes that will smash into their victims once they step on a false-board. During their free time (while alone), they like to draw with chalk and dissect frogs with keys. When in groups, they play games and mess with each other.

The Bullies are very prone to violence, even against each other. The first Bullies that we were introduced to were dead, based on their placement we can assume that it was due to a light trap placed by the fellow Bullies. In a room filled with giant chess pieces, we see a Bully tied to the king piece with rope and a crown on top of his head. Other than themselves, the Bullies are also very aggressive against others. Whenever they come across someone lurking in their territory that is different than them, they will scratch and leap at them, killing them after doing so.

There is only one person that the Bullies obey, and that is the Teacher. They remain calm and collected in her presence, as she will become angry with them even if they are just sitting in place. The only instance of obedience we see with them and the Teacher is when Mono is spotted trespassing in the classroom. The Teacher will slam her ruler on the table, causing the Bullies to get out of their seats and attack Mono. Throughout the school zone we see different areas of punishment that the Bullies are presumably punished in. Methods include being tied to a rope and having a robe tied to their bodies. During their punishments, they tend to draw on nearby chalkboards and on the floor.

Appearance[]

The bullies appear to have large heads, black hair, cracked faces, and an incredibly light tan color for "skin". They have dark holes where their eyes should be. Boys wear a brown button-up vest with a white button-up undershirt, brown shorts, white tube socks, and black shoes. Girls wear white button-up shirts with skirts that start at their hips, white tube socks, and black shoes. Despite being the same height as regular children, Bullies are shown to be slightly taller than Mono and Six.

Biography[]

Little Nightmares: Secrets of the Maws[]

The Bullies make a cameo appearance in Little Nightmares' DLC campaign Secrets of the Maw, specifically in the third and final chapter "The Residence" where portraits of both male and female Bullies with shattered heads can be found in the Lady's living quarters. It is unknown how the Bullies are connected with the Lady and the Maw.

Digital Comics[]

The Bullies make an appearance in the fourth chapter of the promotional digital comic book app for Little Nightmares 2. In the chapter, several Bullies attempt to terrorize a young, chubby boy with a lollipop. The boy tries to hide, but eventually has to use his lollipop to smash their heads. His first victim is one of the two Bullies that he was hiding from in the hallway. He then has to smash the second one who came to check on the first. After some more smashing we find him in the school yard, inspecting the dead body of a female Bully until he is forced to hide in a locker from the Teacher, where she eventually corners him.

Little Nightmares 2[]

Shortly after entering the School, we see our first Bullies (or rather their bodies) broken and lying on the ground. A living Bully will run to the next room from them after approaching the middle of the room. In the next room, we see two more Bullies spying on the duo, but hiding shortly after. In the third room, a Bully pushes a locker on top of Mono, allowing a gang of Bullies to kidnap Six. Mono escapes and tries to save her, but they escape into the roof on a suspension ladder. Mono will then turn around and grab a hammer off the ground which he uses to smash a Bully in the next room who was playing with a frog.

He then walks down a hallway at the end of which is a classroom filled with Bullies in the middle of a class being taught by the Teacher. Mono will have to make it to the other side of the room without being spotted, otherwise the Teacher will scream and have the Bullies attack Mono. He grabs a key in the next room, causing a ruckus which the Teacher checks on. After leaving without finding anything she will spend her time walking around the classroom slamming her ruler down on tables and checking on the Bullies faces while they work. Mono will have to sneak out of the next room and unlock an elevator with a key to get to the next part of the School. After exiting the elevator Mono will reach a room with a Bully tied to a rope with a dunce hat on his head. He is drawing eyes and other nonsense all over a chalkboard and the floor. He will try to attack Mono once spotting him, but Mono will have found a pipe to smash the Bullies head with first.

The Bullies are not seen for a while after this until Mono reaches a room with giant chess pieces. He will not have to fight any Bullies here, but he will see a dead one tied to a king piece on the middle of the room with a crown on his head. Shortly after Mono heads to the kitchen/cafeteria area. In the kitchen area, Mono will have to fight three Bullies, after which he will retrieve a Bully head. He will use this head to sneak past hoards of Bullies in the cafeteria area causing havoc and hoards of Bullies in a hallway filled with Bullies messing with each other and playing games.

Mono will have yet another battle with the Bullies in an area where they are less abundant. After escaping the Teacher, he will reach another hallway with Bullies messing around. He will grab a sledgehammer on the floor which he will use to break the head of any Bully who spots him. After making his way down the long winding hallway, he will reach a bathroom with two Bullies hanging Six on a rope by her legs Mono will have to kill both of them in order to save her.

Later, after rescuing Six, Mono will make it to a piano tied to a string, which he will knock through the floor. In order to exit this floor they will need a key, which is being held by a female Bully toying with a frog outside. Six distracts her while Mono fetches the key and then kills her with an object he found nearby. After unlocking the door, Six and Mono will have to fight one last Bully, who is drawing on the floor with chalk. He will either be killed by Mono with a weapon or by Six.

Trivia[]

  • The Bullies' theme is called "Crackheads".
  • Some Bullies who have had their heads smash are shown to have survived the blunt trauma. It is unknown how certain Bullies are able to survive getting their heads smashed while others cannot.
  • One of the first rooms that we are introduced to is filled with beds and toys. This implies that the children live at the school, and are without parents.
  • The final Bully that we face can be defeated in two different ways: Mono can smash his head with a pipe or Six can jump on top of him and crush his head.
  • The School is littered with pictures of the Bullies.
  • Before entering the kitchen, you can enter a secret room on the left side to find a dead lunch lady. It is unknown whether she was killed by the Bullies or by the Teacher.
