Villain Overview

The Bunnyman is the titular main antagonist to the horror movie trilogy of the same name.

He was portrayed by Joshua Lang in all three movies.

Appearance[]

The Bunnyman is a tall (6'5") and physically strong man who never takes off his bunny costume, though occasionally he will remove his mask if he needs and/or wants to.

The costume The Bunnyman wears progressively gets worn down with each subsequent movie. In the first film, it's in nearly perfect condition, with only a few blood stains on it and the ears stand straight up. In the sequel, it shows plenty of wear by having much more dirt and dried blood on it and he's also gotten rid of the bunny styled gloves, most likely because they were a hassle to grab things with. The ears have started drooping at this point, likely due to the wires inside rusting and breaking. By the final movie, it's moldy and horribly stained due to it never being washed. The ears are completely limp at this point, the wires most likely having been removed.

The Bunnyman's face is only seen a few times in the trilogy. The first time it's seen, there's hardly any skin on his head at all and he's completely bald. By the second film, the flesh on The Bunnyman's head has rotted to the point of appearing white. His face is seen one more time in the final shots of the last movie, now appearing flaky and dried up like a mummy's skin.

In the final film, it was revealed that when he was a child, The Bunnyman had blonde hair and white skin.

The haunted house he works for says he's 7ft tall, though this is obviously exaggerated as with most amusement park attractions.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • High Strength - Although not super human by any means, The Bunnyman has never been shown to be tired after carrying around fully grown adults, his trademark chainsaw, or other heavy equipment for hours on end.
  • High Endurance - The Bunnyman is able to endure seemingly never ending amounts of pain and damage without stopping. Despite the severe burns to his entire body, he's never been hindered by them. The Bunnyman has also been stabbed and assaulted several times throughout the trilogy and yet he's only ever briefly subdued in the third film after being drugged. His costume which was moldy and dirty as mentioned above never seemed to bother him, not to mention the intense heat he must feel inside of it since he's almost always outside, even in deserts for the second and third films.

Weaknesses[]

  • Fragile Mental State - Although by the events of the first film calling him "sane" would be a stretch, The Bunnyman suffers many traumas throughout the films such as the loss of his girlfriend Melissa, the torment of simply being around Joe, and the murder of his only friend, Jacob, in the third film has made his mental health nearly brought the point of shattering completely.
  • Communication - The Bunnyman is entirely unable to speak due to the burn injuries he suffered as a child. The only way he's been shown to communicate is by hand and body gestures, making it difficult at times for others to know what he wants. It has been shown that he knows how to write on signs, though his spelling skills are poor.
  • Intelligence - Although not stupid by any means and he is not intellectually handicapped, The Bunnyman has more than likely never received any kind of formal education and most of the people he hangs out with take advantage of him because of this.

Trivia[]

  • When The Bunnyman was released in the United States, it was renamed "The Bunnyman Massacre" in the United Kingdom. The sequel was named "The Bunnyman Massacre" in the US and "The Bunnyman Resurrection" in the UK, even though The Bunnyman never died in the first movie. The final movie was called "Bunnyman Vengeance" in the US and "Bunnyman: Suffer the Children" in the UK.
  • The Bunnyman is clearly based off the mythological Bunnyman, given the similarities of being a bunny costume wearing murderer that stalks people in the woods. Though, The Bunnyman often prefers to use a chainsaw while the mythological Bunnyman prefers an axe.
  • The song playing during The Bunnyman's drug trip in Vengeance is "Machinist of Joy" by Die Krupps.
