The Burning Flag are the main antagonists of the video game Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. It is lead by the mysterious Commander 31, a terrorist who manipulated NATO and China into clashing militarily against each other, instigating the Kazakh Conflict.
Biography[]
Very little is known about the Burning Flag and its leader, including its formation date. 31 sought world domination, and the group would cause this by toppling all governments across the world and create a state global anarchy, where 31 would eventually rule supreme. To achieve this, the group secretly manipulated NATO and China into fighting each other in the country of Kazakhstan. 31 later sent soldiers out to intervene and sabotage any attempts at a peace treaty, including striking NATO ships and rigging a cargo train with explosives.
After the group made their existence known, 31 planned to launch three ICBMs over China, Europe, the Middle East and the United States, as a part of the plan to instigate global anarchy. However, the player's choice of either NATO armed forces or the People's Liberation Army found their base of operations, killed 31 and ended the Burning Flag's aspirations to world domination.
Trivia[]
- The equipment used by the Burning Flag was the same as the Middle Eastern Coalition in Modern Combat's multiplayer mode.
