The Butcher, also known as the S-003, is the main antagonist of the first Purgatory game and its 2025 remake. He is an imperfect demon serving the Lobelia Corporation.

The Butcher was once a human who became a perfect demon created by Oliver G. Lobelia.
Purgatory[]
After Enri Louvre is forced into the butcher's factory by her friends, he tries to hunt her down for most of the game. While Enri is escaping, he heads outside through the sewer grate and appears behind her friends, killing Lukas. However, he ends up being hunted down by Enri at the end once she gets her powers from the Demonic Axe.
Appearance[]
The butcher still retains some of his human appearance, such as his skin. He is a large humanoid, being taller than normal humans. He wears a blank white mask with only three holes for his eyes and mouth.
Personality[]
The Butcher does not speak although he seems to have human-level intelligence. Due to experimentation from the Lobelia Corporation, he became a mindless serial killer who takes joy in killing humans. He has had 19,700 victims, and was aiming for 20,000 to become a perfect demon.
