The Cat ("La Gatta" in Italian), is an antagonist of the italian comic book series Rat-Man and it's animated series with the same name.

Biography[]

The Cat is a beautiful and sensual woman who kills men after seducing them.

In her first appearance, Rat-Man and Tadeus Brakko try to capture her, with the only result that Rat-Man is kidnapped by her. At the end of the episode, it is revealed that the Cat is not just a woman but a kind of supernatural creature; only the intervention of a special police force, that of the mysterious "Guardians", makes it possible to secure it.

Subsequently she was the protagonist of a calendar dedicated to her in 2001, a painted black and white "calendalbo" released only in comic shops that also contained the story Seductive trap, prologue to the "Trilogy of the Cat". On the occasion of that trilogy, Rat-Man, who because of his obsession with pornography seems to have forgotten Thea, her only missing love of hers, falls into the trap of the Cat, who captures men through the calendar that depicts. It also turns out that the Cat is the embodiment of desire, and has been fought by men since the time of the Egyptians, when she was called Sekhmet ("The Ten Commandments were created to protect us from her"). Ratty will be able to escape her only thanks to the memory of Thea, who continues to dwell in her heart, and Cinzia, the only "man" that the Cat cannot seduce, and who manages to eliminate her without too many problems.

She also appeared in an episode of the animated series of Rat-Man (The Cat), where she is voiced by Monica Ward.

Trivia[]

  • She is a parody of Catwoman (DC) from Batman.
  • The character won the 2002 INCA Award for "Best Supporting Female Character".
