~ The boy and girl
The Children are the two secondary antagonists from Stephen King's short story Crouch End. They are beings that exist in the dimension that the two main protagonists find themselves lost in.
Both children appear to be young caucasians with dark brown hair. The girl was said to possess ragged braids and the boy was said to have had a deformed claw-like hand.
Personalities[]
On the surface, the children appeared to be fun-loving youths that enjoyed playing with each other outside. After Lonnie and Doris went to approach them for help however, they revealed themselves to have a dislike for Americans, both of them shouting at the couple and then running away.
As the story progressed, it was revealed that the two children possessed a more sinister personality. When they later approached Doris after they lost her husband, they began to mock her and speak in riddles with demonic undertones. They revealed themselves to have some sort of connection to The Goat with a Thousand Young, summoning it and (in the film) attempting to catch her when she tried to escape.
Biography[]
The two children are first seen playing with each other in the streets. After Doris and Lonnie found themselves to be lost, they approached the children and asked them for directions. The boy asked them if they were American, and after they responded yes, the girl shouted "Bugger off, Joe!", followed by the boy shouting "Sir!" three times. They then ran away laughing.
The children are then seen again during a hallucination that occurred to Doris while she was attempting to rescue Lonnie.
The children are seen once more after Doris had lost Lonnie. They approached her out of a dark ally, speaking to her in riddles. Doris asked where her husband was, and the boy responded by telling her that he was taken by The Goat with a Thousand Young. He then proceeded to summon the demon, and so Doris tried to escape.
In the TV show adaption, they chased after her and grabbed her leg, causing her to fall. She was quickly able to escape afterword, but not without loosing her shoe.

Trivia[]
The TV show adaption and the original short story have several differences. In the short story, Doris only saw the little boy during her flashback and she was not attack when she tried to leave.
The paranormal capabilities that the children possess are unknown, but it can be assumed that they are somehow connected to the dimension they reside in as the little boy was able to call upon The Goat with a Thousand Young using a demonic chant.
