The Clarks are the main antagonists of the analog horror series by The Children Under The House by vintage eight. They are a seemingly kind hearted elderly couple who used to own the restaurant The Burger Shack, before its revealed that they are a pair of greedy human traffickers,

Personality[]

The Clark’s were said to be a pillar of their community who was known to be a harmless and friendly elderly couple. Yet this was a guise to hide the fact they were selfish and greedy traffickers, kidnapping children and selling them to pedophiles for the sake of money. The Clark’s were unapologetic and unsympathetic to any of the victims, having them drugged to keep them quiet and obedient.

When confronted with their crimes, The Clark’s show to remember all the children’s names and faces, yet show zero remorse for their crimes, believing themselves as good people just doing a business, and that they needed the money.

Appearance[]

The Clarks, with their only depictions being through Jess's drawings, consist of a woman with white hair, glasses, and a red dress, similar to cartoonish depictions of old women, and a larger man with a large white shirt, jeans, a beard, and glasses.

Summary[]

The Clarks, known simply as Mr. and Mrs. Clark throughout the series, are a wife and husband duo of child traffickers who used restaurant, The Burger Shack, to traffic children, simply in an attempt at getting cash flow. When they left their house in Cate's Crossing to move somewhere else, Jess, a young girl and her family move in.

Jess starts having nightmares about "children under the house". In an attempt to quell Jess's worries Jess's father tries to take her into the basement. After which she stops being able to speak and communicates through drawings she makes, those drawings being what we see throughout the series.

Jess's therapist, Julia Lou, talked with Jess, and over the course of a few sessions, found out that these children she thought were imaginary friends were actually ghosts of children that actually went missing across Cate's Crossing, and that she had, quote, "traded her voice for eyes", as in, the ability to see the children.

Julia Lou connects the dots with the drawings Jess gives her, seeing that they all ended up trafficked through The Burger Shack, but accidentally told The Clarks about these disappearances before she found this out. She then gets held up by The Clarks, one of them holding a gun at her.

In retaliation, she tries to get them to say the names of the children that they had trafficked. When they do, the children remember everything, and start to tear The Clarks limb from limb, dragging their flesh to no one knows where, and their souls to Hell.

No one is able to find their body, or evidence on the crimes they committed. Their disappearance ends up a mystery of an upstanding married couple who suddenly disappeared one day, When in truth, They were monsters who got exactly what they deserved.
