The Clown is the main antagonist of the 2019 slasher thriller Haunt.
He is a member and seemingly the leader of a group of killers that wants to make its members resemble a monster of their choice based off Halloween masks, The Clown acted as the one who would destroy evidence and would force their victims' to hand over the cellphones.
He is played by Justin Marxen.
History[]
The Clown's past is left unexplored outside of at some point he found a group of similar individuals obsessed with monsters, at some point he was able to modify his face to look somewhat like a clown by participating in murdering others and encouraging others in a haunted house the cult would make every Halloween to do the same. Acting as the ticket keeper, The Clown would silently offer any visitors a key after a minor magic trick before handing them wavers telling them they would need to put their phones in a small lock box. When six victims Harper, Mallory, Bailey, Angela, Nathan and Evan come and mock him he continues his job silently before letting them in. As the other killers slowly kill some of the victims The Clown takes the lock box and starts checking all their phones, until Harper's abusive ex-boyfriend, Sam, calls her phone. Deciding to answer The Clown informs Sam that it is too late to save Harper before hanging up on him. After hanging up the phone The Clown starts to slowly microwave them.
After finding out Nathan briefly got a phone to send their location, The Clown attacks the car of his victim and set up more traps before having Mitch send a captured and masked Bailey to the escape room where Harper was hiding after killing another killer. As Sam arrives asking about Harper, The Clown watches as he was shot by a nail gun in the throat before throwing a concrete block on Sam's hand and smashing his head with a hammer. As The Clown notices that several members were killed so cut down several bags of oil in the maze before setting it all on fire in an attempt to hide evidence. Furious over how Harper and Nathan ruined his plans, The Clown finds her release forms from the hospital tracking her to her place only to realize it is a trap. As he steps in, he realizes there is a similar sticky substance making it hard to move and when he falls forward in a bid to escape, he falls onto a plank filled with nails, before he can try to escape, he is shot in the head by Harper ending his reign of terror.
Appearance[]
The Clown's outfit consists of a black and grey clown suit with red highlights, a simple clown mask with a top of his head shaved and frizzy pointed hair on the side to resemble a normal clown. Unmasked he has several tattoos to resemble classic clown makeup.
Personality[]
A soft-spoken sadist, The Clown rarely talk but is shown to be fairly intelligent and resourceful given he was able to set up several traps with ease in such a short amount of time while encouraging others to be violent killers in return for a modified face.
Trivia[]
- His role in the group has never been confirmed but some fans assume he is the leader, this has yet to be confirmed either way with him mainly just focusing on destroying the cellphones and later trying to track down Harper for killing the other members.
