The Cobra is the overarching antagonist of Timon & Pumbaa, serving as the main antagonist of the episode, "Once Upon a Timon" and the comic adaptation of the same name.
The Cobra was a predator that was responsible for the invasion of the Meerkat colony and the kidnapping of the Duke Meerkat's daughter, Tatiana and having Timon blamed and banished for abandoning his post.
Appearance[]
To the meerkats and even Pumbaa, the Cobra had possessed a large slithering body. Its body is long-black scaled with a cream under belly and yellow eyes with brown pupils. Its appearance in the comic adaptation is a lot different as it instead possessed a long-blue scaled body with a cyan underbelly and blue pupils.
Personality[]
The Cobra is known for its intimidating and ruthless manner. It is intelligent, opportunistic and cunning as it was anle to capture Tatiana and had Timom's banishment happen after successful of taking advantage of it. After capturing Tatiana, it shows a more animalistic side when it attempts to eat her and Timon with Pumbaa easily outsmarting it after rescuing them.

Past[]
Not much about the Cobra is known, but it is a resident of Hakuna Matata who searches for food to survive. It would find Tatiana as a suitable target for kidnapping and had to wait for the right moment to strike when any entrance to the meerkat colony is left unguarded.
Timon & Pumbaa[]
The Cobra was first seen waiting for the right moment to strike the colony with Fred convincing Timon to abandon his post to see Tatiana without getting caught. With Timon leaving the backgate unguarded and had a dummy for the replacement, the Cobra ultimately begins to have its chance to invade the colony. The Cobra breaks through the backgate and invades the colony, causing much destruction in its path with several buildings destroyed until it reached the castle. Fred, while napping, asked for its identification and purpose and the Cobra responds grabbing his helmet and let out a hiss, having him scream in fear and unable to protect Tatiana. The Cobra breaks into the castle and uses its body to capture her, destroying her room before escaping with her.
Because of this invasion, Timon was accused of being the fault of the catastrophe for abandoning his post and allowing the Cobra to kill Tatiana as they believed. In the trial, Timon was banished from the colony thus becoming an outcast. Meanwhile, the Cobra drags Tatiana in a long way to its lair in a lava pit in Hakuna Matuna where it made preparations to devour her. Tatiana's screams would eventually attract attention from Timon and Pumbaa, whom both are now united after their banishment from their colonies and discover her in the Cobra's lair but at mercy. Timon and Pumbaa manage to have the Cobra distracted with Pumbaa luring it away from Tatiana while Timon attempts to help her out of the its clutches, but the rope breaks, falling to the same clutches as with Tatiana. It makes one final attempt to kill them both by devouring them, but Pumbaa was able to rescue them in time shouting "Hakuna Matata" before it had the chance. Instead of eating them, it mistakenly lands into the lava, resulting in its death.
Trivia[]
- While unconfirmed, the Cobra is most likely an Outlander who searches for food to survive in no care for the Circle of Life.
- In the cartoon continuity of Timon and Pumbaa, it is the one responsible for Timon's banishment from the colony and the reason for Timon and Pumbaa to become a duo with their motto "Hakuna Matata".
- It is similar to that of Ushari from The Lion Guard which both of them are antagonistic cobras and who had both died falling into the lava. The only difference is that the Cobra died in a lava pit while Ushari died in a volcano.
