Jeffery Albertson, better known as The Collector and as Comic Book Guy, is the main antagonist of the Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror X segment "Desperately Xeeking Xena." He is an egotistical, wannabe-supervillain who kidnapped the superhero Xena and attempted to marry her.
He was voiced by Hank Azaria, who also voiced Comic Book Guy in "Brick Like Me."
Personality[]
The Collector is very similar to his canon counterpart. He is an extremely nerdy manchild who excessively indulges in movies, tv shows, and comic books. He is also a massive jerk and a snob, with a tendency to emphasize certain words when he speaks. However, while the Comic Book Guy was not a villain in any means, The Collector is a complete supervillain and took great pride in that fact. He is willing to do things that Comic Book Guy would never do, such as trying to murder two children. He also has a hint of insecurities, feeling unloved and desperate for human affection.
Appearance[]
The Collector is a tall, obese man with a light-brown pony tail and a black beard. He wears a lime green onesie with a green cape and a yellow "C" on the front. He sports a mask and long gloves, both of which are turquoise. He also has a black utility belt and light blue sneakers.
History[]
While his past is mostly unknown, it's shown that he had imprisoned several celebrities prior to the events of the episode. It's also implied that he fought Bart and Lisa at some point before.
The Collector made himself known at a book shop where Lucy Lawless, also known as the superhero Xena, was talking to her fans about her heroic endeavors, which they believed to be nothing of fiction. Using a large magnet, The Collector crashed through the celling and kidnapped Xena. While he was driving away, he revealed that he planed on marrying her. He then took Xena back to his lair, where he kept the rest of his celebrity prisoners.
The Collector's plans were interrupted by Bart and Lisa Simpson, who in this universe had gained superpowers and were known as Stretch-Dude and Clobber Girl respectively. The Collector produced a phaser gun shot Lisa, incapacitating her. He tried to do the same to Bart, but Bart dodged every shot, resulting in The Collector simply throwing the weapon at him, knocking the child unconscious.
After The Collector started to lower the siblings into a container of Lucite, he went to plan his forced wedding with Xena. Xena asked why he chose her specifically, and The Collector said that none of the other women he'd imprisoned actually liked him. Xena then revealed her own insecurities and said that she accepted The Collector's marriage, leading to him attempting to kiss her. This wall all a trick, and Xena kicked The Collector across the room. During their fight, The Collector removed a lightsaber from its package and attempted to use it as a weapon. However, he soon realized that the item was no longer a collectable now that it had been opened. Horrified, The Collector stumbled backwards until he tripped on a railing and fell into the Lucite. In his final moments, he struck a Lorne Greene pose and proclaimed it as the "best death ever."
