“ | Counselor: "When people find themselves in situations where it's 10 on 1, it'd be a tad irrational to immediately rule out the conflict being your fault." Nicole: "No, I get that, but the gym teacher, he was at this concert and like-." Counselor: "Now hold on. So why are they upset with you, again?" Nicole: "Because I didn't have sex with them." Counselor: "So sexual frustration, natural for all boys of their age. But what provokes that?" Nicole: "Hormones?" Counselor: "Teasing. Are we being a tease, Nicole?" ~ The Counselor "helping" Nicole |
The Counselor is one of the main antagonists of the satirical visual novel Class of '09 franchise.
He was voiced by Anthony Sardinha, who also voices DJ Grooves in A Hat In Time and Dr. James Sheridan in Meta Runner.
Biography[]
The Counselor is the hebephilic guidance counselor at Nicole's new school who attempts to use his position to convince his female students that their age difference is not inappropriate. For male students, he's shown to be a good school counselor, indicating his unprofessional behavior is driven by his obsession with sex. Towards his female students, any advice he gives will typically segue into trying to sell them on the idea that pedophilia is acceptable, or that whatever issue they are having can be solved by having sex. Despite liking underage girls, he is said to have a sexual relationship with Principal Lynn, and it's implied that this is the reason he has not been fired despite him being a known sexual harasser to the point that even Jecka warns Nicole that the Counselor is a creep before she sees him for the first time, and many other female students joke about his sexual harassment on a regular basis.
The Counselor is shown to be a hypocrite, as he lectures Nicole and Ari about abuse and how it doesn't have to be physical, and Nicole points out that what he does really amounts to attempts to sexually abuse girls, the Counselor becomes extremely offended, suggesting he sees nothing wrong with what he does or possibly believes his own lies.
The Counselor will typically present himself as affable and friendly, but when backed into a corner, he will quickly drop the facade and reveal himself to be a ruthless psychopath. If Nicole reports his attempts to take her off school grounds to have relations to the school security guard, he will scream threats and verbal abuse at her as he taken away in handcuffs. In The Flip Side, when Kelly and Jecka discover the FYE vault of snuff films and illegal pornography, the Counselor will not hesitate to shoot Kelly dead before preparing to do the same to Jecka to ensure they tell no one what they saw.
