~ The official Twitter description of The Craftsman. |
The Craftsman is a major antagonist in the mobile puzzle video game Very Little Nightmares. He is a deformed humanoid that creates dolls for the Pretender. He will chase the young protagonist using his long hands if he catches them wandering in his territory.
Characteristics[]
The Craftsman is bound to a wheelchair, as he seems to have deformed feet. Like the Butler, The craftsman is always working in his section of the Nest. We always see him working with an odd flesh-like material, which is most likely the skin of the children that he trapped in cages. Throughout the game, we see his process of preparing it before using it to stitch together the dolls of The Pretender.
The Craftsman is very similar to that of the Janitor a pair of long arms. He uses them to reach up high and catch the girl. Instead of turning large wheels like typical wheelchair-bound individuals, the Craftsman drags his hands along the floor to get from place to place. He wears red goggles that seemingly enhances his eye sight. He is very sensitive to motion, sprinting into action at the sign of of motion.
Appearance[]
He appears to have aging Caucasian skin, a balding head, somewhat-long white hair, a pointed nose, grey goggles with red lenses, a white face mask, a green shirt and green pants, a light-brown apron, long grey fingernails, and backwards feet. He sits on a brown wheelchair.
Biography[]
The Craftsman is first seen after the child enters a room through a vent. He is seen exiting a room while dragging away a child in a cage. In the next room, there is a key on top of a cabinet inside of a glass jar. The child climbs on top of at the cabinet and breaks the jar in order to get to the key. Once they do, The Craftsman will enter and see what caused the ruckus. If the child does not stay completely still, he will catch them. He isn't seen for a while later until the child enters another room through a vent where The Craftsman is spraying a hose on the other side. The child will walk across the top of the room and once they get too The Craftsman, he will leave (out of coincidence). Later, the child will enter a room stocked with bathtubs filled with water. The Craftsman will be in the middle of these cleaning what appears to be flesh. He will catch the child in here no matter what. Once he sees the child, the child will escape underneath a wall of pipes where The Craftsman can't reach them. He will then wheel around to the other side in an attempt to catch them, but the child will slide back under, climb up a wall, and escape to the next room through a vent. The Craftsman will presume the child, and he will begin reaching for them on the upper shelf that the child escaped to. If the child escapes this, he will give up and leave. This is the last major appearance of The Craftsman until the child ends his segment by dropping into one of his doll boxes. Without knowing that the child is in , he will carry that box and another to an elevator.
