Francis Albert "Frank" Sinatra, better known as The D-Day Knight, is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Ed Dwight) of the alternate history analogue "superhorror" series THE NIXONVERSE: A MONUMENT MYTHOS STORY, the second installment in THE MONUMENT MYTHOS franchise and it's expansion, THE ABSOLUTE NIXONVERSE.
He would assist American troops during the brutal D-Day, before going into hiding, only to come out again when "knowledge that was not meant to be know becomes known", and he becomes the only thing to stop the Earth from being colonized by The Lunarians. He serves as the archenemy of both The Lunarian Queen and The Last Son of Alcatraz.
Appearance[]
The D-Day Knight is a humanoid man wearing a black cloak. He dons a helmet made from a human skull with two large horns sticking out of each side, taking the look of the two sides of a serpent's jaw.
After suffering an unfathomable loss and grief, he would transform into an eldritch monster made of black flesh and would have a large eye, with a red iris, that once belonged to the Last Son. Despite this horrendous transformation, he would still keep his cloak. He would, though, lose all of his senses in this form.
Biography[]
Origins and Fighting in D-Day[]
After the Great Division, GOD had created The Knight in order to test whether humanity would accept things more powerful than themselves. This individual was known by the inhabitants of the parallel Earth as the "Knight", in reference to the horned skull he used to don as a helmet.
It's heavily implied in The D-DAY KNIGHT that this skull is none other than The Horned Serpent's skull, collected by GOD after killing it, donning both the jaws of its skull, as well as the skull of George Washington as its mask. This mask is lost in D-Day, after he assists American forces in the battle by stopping every bullet shot at American soldiers mid-air.
The D-Day Knight would retire for reasons unknown and is likely not seen after D-Day until much later.
The D-Day Knight Returns[]
After The Last Son of Alcatraz's forceful transformation into The Crescent King, Alice Avenue would broadcast the Last Son's backstory in an attempt to make him remember his true identity, stating that if the Last Son couldn't remember, then she wishes that the Knight would return to save humanity as he once did in D-Day. Mere minutes after the fact, however, The Knight would return, enraged at Alice revealing secrets that she shouldn't be sharing, would grow in size and throw her off the Chrysler Building in a fit of anger.
After regaining his senses, he would later apologize in a letter addressed to the World Nightly, in which we can see that even he is affected by The King's destruction of language. He starts by apologizing for the murder of Alice, saying it was caused by a loss of temper. He enters in a state of denial, claiming that Alice survived and was living inside her memorial statue similarly to Freedom, mentioning that statues in his world hold souls.
In a move of desperation, the Knight would decapitate the statue and wear it as a helmet, only to realize that Alice was truly dead. The sheer grief that this would cause him would make him shapeshift into an appearance that he believed best suited him after his horrible actions.
He would take off the helmet to reveal that his head is now a mass of black flesh with the one discernible feature being The Last Son's eye, that was presumably inside Alice's statue and causing it to have an anomalous reaction. Molly Avenue, editing the video, mentions that "grief can make you a monster."
Bending Fate Once More[]
Noticing his condition, The Queen of The Lunarians would approach him and offer him a place in their kingdom as their Prince after revealing the motives of the invasion, completely full with anger, the Knight would quickly deny the offer and murder the Queen alongside the entire Lunarian race thanks to the leftover Alcatraz cells inside the Last Son's eye, with the event being called the “ALCATRAZ CHECKMATE.”
Just nine months after the destruction of the Lunarian race, language would return, accomplishing the Knight's goal.
The Knight, alongside everyone else in the Nixonverse, was overwritten by a new reality as a result of it being fictionalized by Richard Nixon. This new reality is near identical to ours, with the clear difference of the Nixonverse being a comic book series written by Mister Manticore and drawn by Ed Dwight.
