Virginia Fate Arnoldson, better known as The Debate Demon, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside The Monument Monster) of The MONUMENT MYTHOS: Modern Day, the third installment in THE MONUMENT MYTHOS franchise. She is the entity that is in control of the Republican Party in the Modern Day universe. She is an alternate version of Virginia Arnoldson and works for Alcatraz to carry out its goals.
As Virginia, she is voiced by Jane Lowry.
Biography[]
Backstory[]
The Debate Demon is an alternate version of Virginia Arnoldson, in a universe where she never saw The Special Tree. When this Virginia was a child, she threw her mom's jewelry on top of a chandelier, so her dad got a ladder to retrieve it. However, the ladder fell down and her dad held on to the chandelier. The mom went over to help him, but the chandelier fell and crushed both of them to death. Virginia then hide in a corner and was eventually found. She was taken to the Walt Disney Home for Children, were she was treated differently by the other children, and was given her own room as a result. Virginia began building 18 small houses in the corners of the orphanage (implied to be from the wood of Special Trees) which presumably acted as portals to Wonderland.
Eventually Virginia went missing along with the 18th home, likely due to being trapped inside of Wonderland. She was affected with AWS (American Wonderland Syndrome) and was mutated into a spider-like creature, The Debate Demon. She, along with The Monument Monster, at some point became extensions of the will of Alcatraz. Wishing to become a god but needing radiation to expand itself, Alcatraz got The Demon to begin controlling the Republican Party from the shadows and The Monument Monster to control the Democratic Party. Their mission was to kickstart Operation Seed, an operation where rockets were placed inside of American monuments to better reach other countries around the world, and get the government to release the missiles to begin a nuclear holocaust that would destroy the world and allow Alcatraz to expand.
Modern Day[]
The Debate Demon goes to the 2023 Republican primaries and manipulates the candidates, ordering them on what exactly to say when asked about the issue of gun violence in the country. It's seen that in 2018 Donald Trump made a drawing of The Debate Demon, while calling her "my boss." When Robert Pattinson is elected president in 2024, and already under the pressure due to the nature of Washington, The Demon and Monument Monster manage to drive him to insanity, and get him to being Operation Seed and bringing forth the apocalypse while succeeding in their mission from Alcatraz. Realizing that Alcatraz will reabsorb them eventually, however, The Demon and Monster rebel and desire to escape into a world without Alcatraz. When Cthonaut A goes to Alcatraz to retrieve the body of Donald Trump, The Debate Demon and Monument Monster show him their plans and then possess him. They then use him to exit the universe and run away from Alcatraz.
MONUMENTMYTHOLOGY[]
The Demon and Monster take on new identities, with The Debate Demon becoming the Serpent and The Monument Monster becoming the Tree. After becoming bored, Serpent/Debate Demon decides to leave Tree and lays eggs to create the universe, known as The Deanverse. This begins the events of the original Monument Mythos series.
A Monument Mythos[]
In the epilogue of The Monument Mythos, which depicts various notable American figures and an associated monster, The Debate Demon lurks behind Ronald Reagan, presumably due to him being a Republican.
