Char Aznable has declared The Eagle (The Story of Thạch Sanh) is to be renamed to
Eagle (The Story of Thạch Sanh)
for the following reason(s): The "The" is unneeded.

Please discuss it on the talk page for this article.
"I told you I am not Casval, I am Char Aznable."

The Eagle is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside the Ogre) of the fairytale The Story of Thạch Sanh. It is responsible for kidnapping King Hùng's daughter, the Princess, leading to Thạch Sanh rescuing her.

Biography[]

In the past, the Eagle had kidnapped the son of the Dragon King and locked him up in a cell for three years. One day, when the Princess is walking in the royal garden, the Eagle takes her away. Terrified, the King wants to rescue his daughter, but the entire royal army entrust this mission to Lý Thông due to believing that he had killed the Ogre before. Worrying about this, Lý Thông decides to find Thạch Sanh while organizing a festival.

The Eagle crosses Thạch Sanh while carrying the Princess back to its cave. He then uses his bow to shoot it, injuring the monster and it only barely manages to return to the cave. Thạch Sanh tracks it down, but loses the trace when comes to the cave.

Thạch Sanh then crosses the festival and watches it, allowing Lý Thông to find him. Lý Thông then tells Thạch Sanh about the mission, and Thạch Sanh once again falls into his former adoptive older brother's lies. They alongside Lý Thông's men track down the cave, and Thạch Sanh manages to sneak in and rescue the princess. However, Lý Thông then has his men block the cave entrance with rocks, much to the Princess' anger as she becomes mute.

Trapped, Thạch Sanh tries to break the rocks to escape. Unfortunately, the noise awakens the Eagle, who is angry upon realizing that the Princess is lost and attacks him. The two fight, and Thạch Sanh manages to exhaust the Eagle who is already injured. He then kills it and frees the Dragon King's son.

In some versions, the Eagle's spirit later meets the Ogre's, and the two conspire to frame Thạch Sanh for a crime, which subsequently ends with him being arrested and thrown into prison (other versions attribute this act to Lý Thông, however).
