Dan maintains his ground as long as he can, but is still cut down in the end. Though the Sith warrior has the chance to finish him off, he elects to spare the unconscious Dan knowing whoever accompanied him will come.
Sure enough, Dan's companion, a Jedi Master named Tajin Crosser, shows up to his student's rescue hours later. A battle ensues between the Sith warrior and the Jedi Master, during which the former expresses his excitement upon finding a worthy opponent and laments the fight will be more exciting had he much younger. Nevertheless, he manages to hold ground, using Force Lightning defensively when Tajin deprived him of one of his two lightsabers. However, Dan awakes and hurls his activated lightaber at the Elder, distracting him long enough for his mentor to deliver a killing blow.
