The Emancipators are the main antagonists of Season 2 of the crime action drama series S.W.A.T. They are a radical domestic terrorist group led by Cinque that target political and corporate institutions in an effort to overthrow American society that they believe is corrupt.

History

Inheritance

Under orders from Cinque, three members of the Emancipators abduct Lauren Tucker, daughter of wealthy businessman Richard Tucker, and her boyfriend Paul from their apartment in Westwood. Shortly afterwards, the Emancipators release a video of Lauren Tucker giving a hostage statement. To ensure her safe return, they demand her father perform "two actions of good faith", first by donating $50 million dollars to the Committee for the Poor in L.A. and secondly deposit $5 million in Bitcoin into an account, after which they would send an encrypted email with instructions for Laura's return.
