The Evil Queen is a supporting antagonist in DreamWorks' 14th full-length animated feature film Shrek the Third, the third installment of the Shrek film series.
She is a royal visitor in The Poison Apple who once helped Prince Charming in invading the kingdom of Far Far Away for villains like her to have their happy endings, that is until she redeemed herself in the end. She is based on the original Evil Queen from the Brothers Grimm's Snow White.
She was voiced by Susanne Blakeslee, who also voiced Maleficent in Kingdom Hearts, Lady Tremaine in Cinderella III: A Twist in Time, Gaia in God of War III, Maghda in Diablo III and Rani Nagi in The Secret Saturdays.
Biography[]
She is seen at The Poison Apple with the other fairytale villains, where she is convinced with the other villains to join Prince Charming to conquer Far Far Away, especially after Charming talks to her about how unfair it is that Snow White was cast as the "the fairest in the land". She and the other villains help Charming take over the kingdom with Charming putting on a show to kill Shrek.
Towards the end of the film, Charming calls out the villains to subdue the heroes, where the Queen tries to subdue Queen Lillian with a dagger to the throat. However, Arthur Pendragon, Fiona's cousin, convinces all the bad guys on stage that everyone can be what they want, moving them. The Evil Queen admits that she always wanted to open a spa in France, promting her to eventually end her villainy. She's even seen hugging her stepdaughter Snow White after that.
She is last seen celebrating with the others after Charming's defeat and Artie's coronation.
