The Exaltists are the main antagonists of Zenless Zone Zero.
They are a fanatical and monotheistic cult who venerate the ancient Hollow catastrophe. They don't see it as a tragedy but as a path to "ascension," and their ultimate goal is to usher in the Age of Hollows by force. Their true threat is their reach. They have infiltrated the highest echelons of New Eridu's government and elite society, including key figures in Public Security, the White Star Institute, and major corporations. They are led by the mysterious Mevorakh and his deputy, Sarah, and are always looking for a way to achieve their terrifying vision for.
History[]
The earliest origins of the Exaltist Church are shrouded in mystery. It's speculated that the cult emerged in the grim aftermath of the first Hollow catastrophes, when people, desperate for answers, clung to a new and dangerous faith. While they were known as a public religious organization before the Fall of the Old Capital, their doctrine of venerating the very disasters that nearly destroyed humanity was seen as heretical by many.
