The Eyes of the Universe, or simply known as Eyes, is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside The Tree Entity) of the Spooky Month webseries.
He is a giant eldritch monster that lives underneath The House on the Hill. He is also the idol of The Cult, and the one seemingly responsible for the events of the town. He is also heavily implied that he was created by The Tree Entity for Skid's Father.
He is voiced by the series' creator, Sr Pelo, who voices Mr. Clown and Frank in the same show.
Appearance[]
The Eyes of the Universe is giant, violet-colored, octopus-like creature with crooked teeth, and multiple blank eyes that turn blue when someone looks directly into them. It also possesses multiple jointed legs sticking out of its head and numerous larger tentacles scattered throughout its realm.
Personality[]
At first he just appears to be an emotionless monster, after he's informed about the "Spooky Month", he is shown to be rather affable, specially with Skid & Pump, and in the end is seen happy doing the "Spooky Month" Dance.
Despite this friendly side however, episodes such as "Hollow Sorrows" hint at him possibly having a more malevolent side with how he brainwashes Father Gregor, as well as being implied to have done similar to other characters such as Bob Velseb as well. However, nothing is confirmed as of now.
Biography[]
Past[]
While Eyes's past is never fully explored, it's implied in the Tender Treats ARG that The Tree Entity created Eyes for Skid's father.
In the scroll image in the Spooky Month ARG that after a man sacrificed six children to Moloch, he gave the man knowledge of the inner workings of the universe, which lead to Eyes being summoned to pursue the man.
The Stars[]
The Eyes of The Universe first appears in the second episode, The Stars, when Roy's Uncle attempts to molest Skid & Pump, when he drags both of them down to his Domain, to which the Uncle runs away. After dragging both of them down, he asks them their names, to which Skid introduces them to him, then they ask who he is to which he responds, referring to himself as "The Eyes of the Universe", he then tells them he will show them "The End", to which Pump mistakes it for the "Spooky Month". after hearing this, he goes out of the house in excitement and ends up killing Roy's Uncle by squishing him, he then runs into the Hatzgang, traumatizing them, to which Skid & Pump think they're having fun. They then go to the candy shop, as Skid & Pump ask for three candy cans, Kevin than asks who the third one's for to which the Eyes appear, after this they are seen eating candy, to which he tells them he has to go to which they say their goodbyes as Skid & Pump go to the former's house. He is scene at the the end where he is seen in his Lair doing the "Spooky Month" dance.
In the Newgrounds ending, as the police driving away with the thieves, they see his tentacles coming out of the house much to the agitation.
Other Appearances[]
He is mentioned in Spooky Month: The Unwanted Guest, when Ross & Robert are scared after seeing Skid & Pump, Roy weirded out by this, asks them why their scared to which they tell him about the "big monster", to which Roy responds in fear "It wasn't a dream".
In Spooky Month: Deadly Smiles, Pump makes a picture of him sucking out their souls.
In Spooky Month: Tender Treats, Kevin angered at Skid & Pump tells them that his encounter with the Eyes gave him nightmares.
In Kevin's Dream Job, Eyes appears near the end in a montage.
Hollow Sorrows[]
In his most prominent appearance since his debut episode yet, The Eyes of the Universe makes a brief appearance at the end of this episode where, after the Cult knocks out Father Gregor, force him to come face-to-face with the eldritch deity, to which he seemingly brainwashes him to presumably use him as a pawn for later episodes.

Trivia[]
- The Eyes of the Universe, similar to other villains in the series, appears to have been hit with the Cerebus Syndrome, as ever since the cult that worships him were introduced, he's been taken far more seriously. This is most prevalent in Hollow Sorrows where he is taken completely seriously and is one of the darkest parts of the whole episode. It is unknown if this will affect his personality in any way.
- As the Eyes seemingly causes any under its influence to have their eyes turn cyan, judging by the actions Pump takes in several episodes when his eyes turn blue, it's likely that the Eyes is assisting the two kids in their adventures, though whether it has any nefarious purposes for this is till unclear.
- Interestingly, as Bob is on the brink of death his eyes glow blue, making it possible that he's being puppeteered by the Eyes in this state or that the Cult can draw out the Eyes's power independent of it.
