The Faceless Hunter is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Starro) of Season two of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. He is a hunter from the planet Klaramar who made a deal with Starro to destroy his world and help him take over multiple worlds for his own satisfaction as his herald. He is also the arch-nemesis of B’wana Beast.
He was voiced by John DiMaggio.
Biography[]
Chun Yull once lived on the planet of Klaramar, but as the planet was considered peaceful, he was considered an outcast by the populace of the world for being a hunter. Chun Yull met a giant creature, Starro, and agreed to join its side in conquest across the universe. Chun Yull sold out the people of his world by having Starro, who planned to leave them in peace due to their immunity to his mind control, to destroy his homeworld as revenge in exchange for his services. Since the destruction of Klaramar, Chun Yull, now known as the Faceless Hunter, assisted Starro in going from world to world and helping the creature brainwash many lifeforms across many worlds, while destroying anyone immune to Starro's thrall. Through his time as a hunter he fought many who opposed them, murdered them, and kept their bodies on his ship in a place he called the Hall of Vanquished Heroes.
After the destruction of many worlds, The Faceless Hunter and Starro set their gaze on Earth. The Faceless Hunter arrived in Atlantis with starfish from Starro. He managed to have every person in Atlantis assimilated to Starro's will by having the starfish attached to their faces. He is successful in placing a starfish on Aquaman's face to make him susceptible to Starro's will. The Faceless Hunter continued to travel around the world attacking many people and superheroes, successful in placing starfish on the faces of many heroes, such as Green Arrow, and murdering anyone resistant to mind control, such as Red Tornado.
The Faceless Hunter eventually ambushed Batman in his hideout and got into a fight with him. He attempted to place a starfish on Batman's face until Booster Gold and Skeets appeared and intervened. He escaped from them and watched the superheroes battle against the superheroes who were brainwashed by Starro. He sent a hologram message to Batman to tell him that Starro's path has been cleared because of the signal he sent it before bombing the building he was on. He observed B'Wana Beast fight against the brainwashed superheroes and decided to reappear on Earth to capture him and take him back to his ship. He knocked out B'Wana Beast and had him held to a contraption that he would use as a weapon of mass destruction on Earth. The Faceless Hunter tortured B'Wana Beast in an attempt to use his power. B'Wana Beast tries to plead to The Faceless Hunter that he does not have to follow Starro's will any longer since Starro was now defeated. The Faceless Hunter revealed that he was following Starro to hunt and destroy and that he sold out his own world and had his people devoured to continue his hunting.
After Starro was overpowered by Shazam and defeated, The Faceless Hunter used the device to channel B'Wana Beast's superpower to recreate a new version of Starro to allow it to destroy the world. As Batman came to The Faceless Hunter's ship to confront him and save B'Wana Beast, The Faceless Hunter destroyed his ship. Despite the destruction of the ship, Batman made it onto The Faceless Hunter's ship and got into a fight with The Faceless Hunter. After overpowering Batman, The Faceless Hunter told him, that he planned to have Batman's head displayed in his Hall of Vanquished Heroes. As the fight continues, Batman tricked The Faceless Hunter with a hologram of himself and managed to use one of The Faceless Hunter's weapons he stole against him and trap him inside of it. With Batman's assistance, B'Wana Beast managed to stop Starro and saved Earth at the cost of his life. The Faceless Hunter is imprisoned.

Trivia[]
- Among the Hunter's trophies is Brainiac. However, Brainiac would later appear in Battle of the Super-Heroes! making it unclear whether the Hunter had genuinely killed Brainiac, with the latter either preserving his consciousness or being rebuilt, or if the former had just killed a drone.
