The Faceless Phantom of Venice is a legendary legacy phantom and thief residing in Venice, Italy. According to the unpopular legend, the phantom is a man that hates couples in-love, and wealthy people, so he uses tactics to spread fear through the night, when there's a parade going on or there's people in the river, and then steals valuables from them while they're still in a state of fear.
History[]
It is unknown when the tale was made and spread through Venice, but the tale is overshadowed, however, thievery in Venice brings out the tale of the Faceless Phantom being a tall many in wavy clothes that can see through the eyes of his cat, Lucifer, who is strongly believed to be the Devil's Cat. He disguises himself in the shadows where he is practically invisible. A romantic time through the Venice river will bring him from the shadows, where he uses quote "soul manipulation" to spread fear through the river, consisting of fog and strange noises, as well as shadow figures going through. While couples are stunned and scared, he steals valuables from them for his own personal gain, and then snaps them out of their state of fear where they remember nothing, and may not notice that they have been robbed.
Modern Impact[]
The Phantom has inspired some people to dress u as the humanoid phantom at the Venice parades and on Halloween, but he also has impact on TV shows and video games, such as Nancy Drew with the Phantom of Venice, and Scooby-Doo with multiple monsters, such as the Ghostly Gondolier and titular Faceless Phantom.
