| ~ The Feeling Team bio in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 |
The Feeling Team, or simply Racer Wannabes, are minor antagonists from Wangan Midnight.
They are different pairs of unnamed street racers who try to race in the Wangan for superiority. While not really the same person, there are different groups of unnamed "Feeling Teams" that seek to defeat Devil Z and Blackbird.
One of the feeling teams, that drive the Mazda MX-5, are voiced by Kenji Takahashi.
Biography[]
Wangan Midnight (Anime)[]
Devil Z[]
In the first episode, "Devil Z", a pair of racer wannabes are shown driving a red Mazda MX-5 Miata where they encounter Akio Asakura in his Devil Z. As Akio was able to overtake them, they became shocked that they saw one of the legendary Wangan racers on the highway.
In the fourth and fifth episodes of the anime, Akio drives the Devil Z in Wangan, with his schoolteacher Rumi trying to observe him by his side, they encountered Yoshiaki Ishida in his Ferrari Testarossa, with Reina Akikawa riding it as an observer. As Ishida and Akio challenged each other, a duo of cocky racer wannabes driving a dark red Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 decided to join the race. They first passed Ishida's Testarossa, and then Akio Asakura's Devil Z. Although they outrun them, they suddenly hit a barrier and began crashing their R32, much to the shock of Rumi as Akio and Ishida avoided the crash.
Another group of feeling team tried outrunning Tatsuya Shima but failed.
Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune[]
The Feeling Team appears in the games, where they encounter the player and race him.
In Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 3 until 3DX+, they drive either a Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 or a Mazda Miata. In the fourth and fifth games, they both drive a Toyota AE86 Trueno and a Mazda RX-7 FD3S Type-S, cosplaying as the vehicles of Takumi Fujiwara and Keisuke Takahashi from the Initial D series.
They were eventually removed in the sixth installment due to the reworking of the story mode.
Personality[]
Depending on the different feeling teams featured in each episode, they are mostly cocky, self-centered, and arrogant and focused on winning races and trying to outrun other racers like Akio Asakura and Tatsuya Shima. However, some are enamoured by the Devil Z's presence, as shown in the first episode where they were fascinated by the Devil Z's return in the Wangan line. They seem to be shocked by the players presence in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune, where he/she unexpectedly speeds past them.

Trivia[]
- The Mazda Miata Roadster driven by one of the Racer Wannabes is similar to Toru Suetsugu's Roadster from Initial D: Fourth Stage, as both series were produced by ACGT making the model likely reused.
- Due to reworking the story mode of Wangan Midnight: Maximum Tune 6, the Feeling Team and their Initial D homage was eventually discontinued and replaced by a chapter involving Hayashi test driving his Mazda RX-7 FC3S while making a deal with Kijima at Mt. Taikan.
- The Feeling Team cosplaying as Takumi Fujiwara and Keisuke Takahashi could somewhat be similar to Imposter Project D from Initial D: Fifth Stage. This possibly was meant as an insult to the Initial D: Arcade Stage video games published by Sega, since it is mostly the primary competitor to the Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune games by Namco.
