The Figure is the main antagonist of the 2025 horror film Good Boy. It's an unidentified specter haunting a man named Todd in his family home, while Todd's dog Indy tries to protect them both from it.
It's portrayed by an uncredited stunt double.
Biography[]
Little is known about the figure's history. It resided in a house where Todd's grandfather and his golden Retriever Bandit lived. It appears the figure had the abilities to disease the lungs of his victims, doing so to Todd's grandfather until he died, while also destroying his state of mind. The figure also killed Bandit and left his corpse in the cellar, but Bandit's ghost state in the house to protect whoever else came in. Todd moved into the house with Indy, his Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever, in spite of his sister Vera's protests. Indy quickly noticed the figure haunting the house, Todd oblivious to its presence and influence on his mind and health. Bandit leads Indy to his bandanna as a warning, but Indy doesn't want to leave Todd. The figure gives him nightmares of the figure killing Todd and his grandfather, as well as coming after Indy. Todd's mental state gets worse, as he gets aggressive with Indy and Vera and keeps slamming his head into walls. Indy tries to run to neighbor Richard for help, but he gets caught in a fox trap. Todd chains Indy outside as punishment. When the figure goes after Indy, he escapes into the cellar, where he finds Bandit's bones. By this point, the figure has fully killed Todd from diseasing his lungs. When the figure tries to pull his ghost away, Indy tries to say him. Todd says he's a good boy and to save himself before the figure takes Todd away. Vera finds Indy grieving in the cellar when she comes to check on him and Todd.
